All reports on my facebook where that they were terriable, horriable and un watchable. I haven't seen them since I was like 6 Fireworks do nothing for me.

 

On an unrelated note, one of my friends got arested for a DUI at the fireworks as he was leaving, he was the DD. He doesn't drink alcohol at all because he is a commercial driver and is pretty much on call 24/7, but they arrested him for DUI. He asked to take a Breathalyzer and they refused to let him take one on site, but when he got to the station he blew a 0.00 and they let him go, this is according to his facebook post, I have not talked to him yet.

 

BTW it was Cincinnati Police.

I feel for your friend. Stories like his really get under my skin. It's not like the police didn't have thousands of other folks they could've messed with (as I imagine they did as well) but they choose a perfectly clean person and run him through the wringer, putting a nerve wrecking ending to what was likely a great day for him, for no reason.... Ugh :no:

Fireworks are not my thing either. However, anyone who said they were terrible was lying. They were pretty cool.

 

Music: Didn't mind it. Its the music WEBN plays. I don't think the music adds to nor detracts from the show.

It seemed like they added a few new things. The music could have been better but I didn't mind the Rob Zombie song.

I did call the opening song for the 1984 Fireworks show, the only time I got it right. :lol2:

I went down there and the fireworks were a joke but the security and how they have everything blocked off for private viewings is an absolute joke. I had a short discussion with a rent-a-cop about how they way they had everything blocked off and funneled to one exit sure seemed like a giant fire hazard. If anyone else was in NKY, they know what I'm talking about.

You are right about this one. Keeping Newport on the Levee blocked off AFTER the fireworks is not right. You can't call it a fire hazard because it is all outside, but it definitely was a boondoggle trying to get off Riverboat Row.
