I had my cell phone stolen from McDonald's about an hour ago. Already called Sprint and informed them, already filed my insurance claim...

 

Has anybody else ever filed an insurance claim, and how fast did you receive your new phone?

Never filed a stolen phone claim but a broken phone claim us usually overnighted. I would have one tomorrow.

Broken and fast like Crash.

My little brother has lost or broken a couple Iphones.

Depends on the company. Keep in mind I work for Verizon so things may vary. If the insurance company is Asurion which I think is what Sprint works with its usually a overnight thing in which you get it replaced. You will prolly have to pay a deductible though.

As I said earlier, I had already called Sprint and set up my insurance claim. As I was working, I thought I'd try McDonald's one more time. Instead, I called my cell number first, and someone answered! It was the manager at McDonald's. Apparently the lady that stole the phone went back to try and use the phone at McDonald's (probably because she couldn't use mine). Pretty stupid move. The ladies at McD's had already looked at the cameras, and they recognized her. Told her that they knew she stole a cell phone, they had her on camera, and that the police would get involved if she didn't turn it in. Apparently she reached in her purse and gave it back to them.

 

I dodged a bullet. Thanked the ladies at McD's a thousand times. I'm glad there are good people like that still around.

 

As for the lady who took my phone, hopefully she got hit by a bus on the way out.

You need to make a police report and have them get the video from McDonalds immediately. Additionally, whatever numbers she tried to call on your phone will also ID her.

She couldn't make any calls from my phone, because I had a pass code lock on it. I also called Sprint immediately, just in case they were to get through the code, and they blocked all services except for incoming calls...

Also, they may have credit card info on her at McDonalds and she may have used the phone there. Lots of possible evidence.

It was just a few hours ago, right? That is nothing, people come back after years sometimes. Get on it. She should pay. You know she steals from people all the time, she deserves to be caught.
