The one things I have always been disappointed in at Raceland is the actual playing surface. They have decent everything else, nice new scoreboard, new press box things like that, I never have understood why they have not tried to improve the field. It may be the worst in the area that goes along with a pretty nice rest of the place. If they would fix that part up it would be a great overall place to play a game.

I know they tried to raise money to majorly improve the field surface and I think they actually put quite a bit of money into the field a couple years ago, it's just going to take time. I'm glad they finally cut the track out and gave the field proper corners, as opposed to the old AstroTurf that was down before.

It is hard to fix it because the estimate is $30,000. With budget cuts and the current State administration taking money from schools like a teenager from it's parent, it is hard to correct the horrendous playing surface. I would like to give a shout out to Greg Grizzle and Matt Walker for the field work that has been done to at least make it more feasible playing surface.

Racelands field has always stunk. Always. It's just the opposite of Putnam.

On the surface you may be disappointed, but I can assure you that a great deal of work has been done. The school can not spend as much money as they want due to the reasons doc stated, but the boosters club officers took out a loan in their own names to repair it. The surface is very good, it may not be pretty, but it is very playable. I doubt anyone on here or in the program has walked that field more then I, and prior to the repairs it was unplayable. Now, it is very nice, level, and solid. The problem we run into is, everyone has bermuda now and it is a very pretty grass, Raceland does not have bermuda and everyone thinks it looks bad.

How many places you go to a game that they charge for parking, Im curious. Ive been to a few.

A lot of the schools here in Ohio do.

The parking fees are how the home teams "pay off" the refs. Haha

At some schools I go to that seems so true.

On site at duPont Manual Stadium in Louisville. Businesses close to Cincy St. Xavier. Papa John's Cardinal Stadium from $5.00 to $15.00 per spot for X/T tilt (U of L gets this windfall along with concessions, a fee for field), & security is split by both schools..

There are a couple of lots at Highlands that cost $400 and $500. But you do get season parking!

So, you're saying parking in those lots are $100.00 per game?

They do go deep in the playoffs...so it would be a sliding scale!

I don't get parking spot being a season sponsor for Raceland.

The hell you don't. I see an orange and black Razor parked behind the bench every game.
