August 22, 201313 yr You could get two gallons of gas for a dollar? No. :lol2: I remember never thinking about war prior to 9/11.
August 22, 201313 yr Used to be able to get a piece of this bubble gum for a penny at the gas station when I was a kid. Still my favorite bubble gum of all-time.
August 22, 201313 yr I remember when......... Riding up on my bike to a side window at Seifert's bakery to get an ice ball. Probably the first drive-thru! Saving my lunch money for the walk home after school in order to spend it at Beuttel's. Playing "strikeout" at John G. Carlisle. Eating chicken from Chicken-In-A-Hurry on Willow Run. Riding my bike down to Tressler Comet "filling" station to get a 10 cent bottle of Coke. Had to drink it there because you had to put the empty bottle in the rack by the machine. While we drank our pop we'd sit there and watch the guy's repair cars. Sneaking out on CovCath's field to play baseball until we were tossed off. Renting bikes at Devou Park. Caddying at Devou. Watching and playing some great basketball at the courts at Goebel Park. I could go on and on...
August 22, 201313 yr When you had to trust someone to show up when you were meeting them because you didn't have cell phones. When you had to go to a record store to buy music. When you had to take your chance anwering your phone because you didn't know who was calling
