In regards to the lineup, I'd bat him 6th and leave him there unless positive performance dictates otherwise. I'd bat Fraz in the 2 hole every time he's out there. When's he's not I'm good with Hannahan or Paul in the 2 hole. Don't like Heisey in the 2 hole. Mezo 7th for everyone but Bronson. Cozart normally 8th, 7th when Hanigan catches Bronson.
August 12, 201313 yr Can't remember if I heard it on the radio or on tv during the game yesterday but they made a great point about Ludwick and his terrible hitting during his rehab. In the majors you get so accustomed to the in depth scouting reports and video that hitting almost isn't what it was growing up, see the ball, hit the ball. So when players go on rehab assignments and they don't have all the tools they do at the major league level, they are left trying to guess on pitchers they never see. Just one take on why he may have hit so poorly. Pretty confident Ludwick had access to scouting reports in 2010 & 2011 when he hit .251 & .237 respectively. Let's face the facts: Ludwick is 35 years old & coming off of shoulder surgery. He may contribute this season, but it is much more likely that he struggles to find his swing. If he hits .260 & 10 HR's it's an upgrade, so he's worth inserting into the lineup...but I have very modest expectations. I might consider hitting him 2nd early on. He can't be any worse than Cozart & at least he'll give you a professional AB. Plus, hitting in front of Votto might get him a few more pitches to drive.

Where's Paul going to be playing to be in the #2 hole? With Ludwick coming back, I don't see Paul or Heisey getting too many AB's now. Heisey will likely get a few more, as he'll be inserted for defense more than Paul will, and could also spell Choo in CF now that Robinson's been sent down.

Sorry, only a passive Reds follower, but living in Louisville I catch the Bats a couple times a month. Didn't realize they'd switched around AA affiliates. Ludwick did look rotten in Louisville.

Heisey will likely get a few more, as he'll be inserted for defense more than Paul will, and could also spell Choo in CF now that Robinson's been sent down. Loud wick definitely won't play every day. Especially to start out. I would be shocked if they didn't give him a day off a week.
