In a year when no one is setting themselves apart, his insane OBP and WAR numbers can go a long way.

August 8, 201313 yr Author Reds making postseason has nothing to do with Votto winning the MVP. Actually making the postseason has quite a bit to do with winning MVP. It's rare that the winner ever comes from a team that doesn't make it.

August 8, 201313 yr Author He just got put on the DL so that is going to hurt him. Interestingly enough, McCutchen was scratched today with a shoulder issue as well. Haven't heard anything about the seriousness of it though. While I don't like seeing anyone get hurt, I wouldn't mind seeing McCutchen miss a couple weeks....
