Hopefully he will learn from the situation and control his emotions better next time. The kid plays extremely hard but sometimes goes over the line. Some of the other Devils need to play with some of his fire.

Devils are getting to be hard to figure out as are most teams in the 16th this season.

How many times did Kasey Clark throw up on Friday!! About 5 and 3 times during the game. He probably shouldn't have gone to school , but I guess his Small Sized heart allowed him not to play hard and my guess is that you never ever left a game bleeding terribly on your back by diving for a loose ball on the stage into the band. His back was cut so bad he finished the game with #11 jersey on. BigDog On Campus, You ned to THINK before you make comments about kids you know nothing about!!!!!!!!!! :madman:

My predictions are right and I didn't even know Kasey was sick until his sister from Lexington told me he was at halftime when she went down to give him some medicine! :fight:

Wrong he kept both hands on the ball and cleared his space it was nothing more than an offensive foul. I see one of those fouls in almost every game! Tharp was not ready to be hit by someone as strong as Clark and his fall made it look worse than it really was! It was a good clean hard basketball play! Did it deserve a foul? Yes it did and nothing more!!

It was not that bad. He really did not connect that well. I agree with Blue Blazer that a foul should have been called before on the Greenup player, but Kasey can not get so frustrated that he loses his cool. I believe in this case, that's what happened. I talked to the ref that made that call and he had no intentions of calling a flagrant or tossing him. But you can believe Hicks was wanting that. Of Course Hicks wants all kinds of irrational calls.

Upon further review and an opinion of someone I think highly of, it appears the foul may have been a little more flagrant than what I saw from across the floor. Refs should take whatever measures needed to maintain control of the game.

I was 2 rows up and in front of the play it was a good clean hard basketball foul in which he WAS fouled first! My opinion will not change no matter what is said! I was right on top of the play! If you spoke yo the referee who made the call he will tell you the same thing! (I spoke with him after the game!!!)

I watched the game close to the Greenup bench, and I still do not see much coaching from Hicks! He whines on every call and gets in the head of weak minded referees. Greenup's kids flat out whooped Russell tonight, and they wanted it more and did EVERYTHING BETTER than Russell did. But what made me sick the most was the way Russell's Big 3 don't seem to want to play on many nights. They are some of the most talented kids in the region and they rely on that too much rather than playing hard (no heart). How many times did Kasey Clark nonchalantly jog up the court barely even controlling the ball as he "directed" the offense. Paethetic, if you ask me. I don't see how anybody can blame Dodd for anything that has been happening with this team, because you can't coach HEART. Russell got beat in every phase in this game and yes they did shoot around 25% (unexcusable), but nobody should take anything away from the Riley kid. He was the best player on the court last night.

I just hope that Russell can turn this thing around and start taking shots within Dodd's offense and not trying to rely on talent alone.

I have only seen Russell play about 3 times this year due to other responsibilities, but my THEORY is that the Clark kid may have some trouble adjusting from being a GREAT football player to just a VERY GOOD basketball player, might be some EGO involved

I have seen him make some really good plays and then turn around and do something totally off the wall, Looks like he turns it on and off as he pleases,

Kasey may be guilty of some things, but Hand checking is not one of them, he keeps his hands up as good as any player in the region, but yes, our officials are very inconsistent when it comes to calling hand checks

... and most games in the 16th are rugby matches...

Until we moved to Oldham County five years ago, I thought the same thing. It took me all of three games to realize that basketball in Eastern Kentucky is called MUCH closer than it is this close to Louisville.

 

When Little Frances plays in tournaments around here, the rule of thumb seems to be what I call the "Third Row Rule". That is, if a player isn't knocked into at least the third row of the stands, there was no foul.

 

I've seen kids literally get knocked off the ball, like a hip check in hockey, and the officials can't seem to find their whistle. In fairness, they are (for the most part) consistent. But believe me when I say, physical play is much more the norm here, than it is back home.
