No its quite simple when people like you say he sucks, then people will say why he does not suck its very simple. He does not suck, but as I have said I was wrong and he is not as good as I thought. As Cats has just said he is the middle of the road QB no more no less. It will be interesting to see how he does this year.

 

I mean just think if he does go out and has a huge year, does that mean all the things people said were right that you called excuses? haha

Maybe so. except for one or two years. So who do we blame for the 1st pick six he throws this year. You all have some time to think about. Going off the creativity the apologists have exhibited so far, I expect some good stuff.

My impression of Palmer is this, I think until the knee injury he was starting to look like he could be a upper level QB. I didn't follow him as closely as Bengal fans but it just seemed that way. Since the injury he seemed to be a middle of the pack guy that was never going to get you to the title game. All that said, he still isn't really wrong. Bad defenses + bad QB = Bengals weren't very good for most of his tenure there.

You can hate him etc. but he didn't say anything that wasn't true. When Carson was here the defense was horrible.

When you realize that a pick 6 is not automatically always on a QB then we can talk. You have to learn to realize as an NFL QB its all about anticipation. Meaning that the receiver has to run the right route, read the defense the same way, and be at the exact depth he is suppose to be at. If a receiver runs his route two yards to short, the pass is high and vice versa. I think how Chad did in New England is very telling about how bad he was at being at the right spot at the right time. Tom Brady will go down as a top 5 QB of all time, and has been able to work with any receiver and still look great. Yet Chad could barely get on the field because of not knowing the plays well enough for them to trust him being in the right spot. You can call it excuses all you want, however you lose credibility in your argument when you continue to act like that also wasn't a big factor.

After the knee he didn't suck here. Shoot he had a great year the very next year after the knee injury. Now if you want to say he was not the same after the elbow injury then I can agree with you on that. Doesn't look like he has the same zip on balls as he did before the elbow injury. In Oakland he played a season and a half, and the majority of the games without a running back because of Mcfadden being hurt. Who are even any of the receivers? You can keep calling it excuses but there is also a lot of facts in there. Now I am not saying he was perfect either, however he is nowhere near as bad as people like you make him seem to be. That is the why people have to say stuff to you about it. Thats why I didn't say anything to Cats now when he said he is nothing more than an average QB. Which right now average QB is exactly what he is, no more no less.
