June 12, 201313 yr Author I understand why people point to this but for me personally if I didn't watch it happen live then it doesn't count and I didn't get to see that layup live so it's just another highlight to me. Watching Bird steal that pass and watching Magic's baby hook for the win register more to me than that layup. No one watched it live. Hard to believe, youngster, but back then the NBA Championship was tape delayed. Creazy.

Even still if I was watching a tape delayed game it would still mean more to me to see it play out in a game as opposed to a highlight. It's not the same kind of emotion you get from watching a game versus a highlight.

It's not the same kind of emotion you get from watching a game versus a highlight. I feel ya, nothing beats watching something exciting unfold in the heat of the moment. I have jumped from a many couches/recliners with excitement during games, its a great feeling everytime. That's what makes sports so enjoyable, real life drama.
June 13, 201313 yr I think of the 91 Finals when MJ rose up like he was going to dunk it super hard with his right hand and then he brought it down, switched hands and layed it up with his left hand. I'll never forget my father and I looking at each other in stunned amazement and then laughing. MJ was just showing off then. I'm not sure it would win in a poll, but it was the first one that I thought of as well. One of my favorite plays was the Tayshaun Prince block of Reggie Miller. Definitely the greatest block in NBA history, in my opinion.

I love being able to just talk about plays and remembering the visual of when it happened. One of the best hustle plays I have ever seen. TheDeuce would say it was just a routine block though. Seeing as how Prince had long arms and stuff. He can block shots at the rim from halfcourt so that block is no biggie. :lol:
