Bank Fees

Featured Replies

I love Fifth Third. I have no beef with them. They are the best bank I have used in my life. I think most of you guys have better options locally than I do.

I have a lot of experience with banks in general and online banking as well. Fifth Third is probably easily one of the worst in this area. Huntington and PNC are way better options all around IMO. But like you said sometimes you only have the option of the evil empire.

I pay 8.00 a month for my checking/savings account at Fifth Third and this just started in the last 3-4 months.

No reason for that. IMO that's absurd.

I agree.

Bank fees to you personally will increase due to a change in the way banks make money from card fees. Basically "free" checking as you know it will be gone.

Instead banks will still have checking accounts that do not cost anything but......they will have conditions. You must have a loan, a CD, a minimum balance etc.

Its just a change in the money flow. Instead of card transaction fees that may have been passed along to you or the place you do business with ......now you personally may pay a more direct fee.

And yes this could be considered a bad business practice by some of catering to the premium customer......but it really is not that much different than in other areas of business.

For example, who gets first crack ay Reds playoff tickets? Season ticket holders.
