I think I heard on Sportscenter that the team winning Game 3 goes on to win the series something like 92% of the time.

 

I like the Spurs in this one, but I do think Miami wins at least one game in San Antonio.

This also gives man opportunity to say how much I dislike the 2-3-2 format. I believe on Mike and Mike they said the winner of Game 3 with a series tied at 1-1 has gone on to win the title ever time except once. The exception being Miami two years ago.

That reasoning is why I picked Miami in game 3. I expect them to win the series. If the Spurs win game 3 then I'll expect them to win the series as the stats suggest.

I don't care how they do the format, so long as they just have one day off between games. Thursday to Sunday for Games 1 & 2 is too long, especially when there's no travel day.

It probably gives too much of an advantage for the team with home court and the numbers show that. However, said team is probably better anyways since they have home court so it is probably a moot point on some level.

The bad thing about the 2-3-2 is that the team that is supposed to have the homecourt advantage only really has homecourt if the series goes to seven games. They have the advantage of playing at home first, but in instance of just a 5-6 game series, it's more of a disadvantage than an advantage.

Here is what I believe. San Antonio has to take 2 of 3 here to win the series. I think this game is one of the two they have to get, if they lose this game I don't see them winning the title.

Since they've went to this format the team that wins game three when the series is tied 1-1 goes on to win the championship 93% of the time. Only one team has won the Finals after losing game three with the series tied, so odds are looking good for whoever wins tonight.
