UHA escapes with the OT win after blowing an 18-point second half lead.

LCA shot a CRAZY amount of 3 pointers. WOW! They had the lead with about 15 seconds to go too.

Always nice to start off the day with a 9 AM Overtime game. Gets everyone excited (and behind) for the rest of the day.

Great game by the Eagles to keep coming. Game seemed to change when the big man for UHA fouled out.

LCA was 9/35 from 3-point range in the game -- 1/12 in the first half

 

Rich Ludka led LCA with 31 points -- 24 in the second half.

 

Phillip Whitaker led UHA with 21 points. Joshua Mack had seven points. He had one point until hitting the last second shot to send the game to OT.

Whitaker plays the game hard, I like his effort he brings.

Ludka actually had 33 for LCA ... he was 6-for-12 from 3-point range. His teammates were 3-for-23.

 

This game simply reinforces my belief that Owensboro Catholic is the true favorite to win the tournament.

Listening to this game, I was having a flashback to 1997 when another 2nd region rep, Trigg County, blew a 17-point halftime lead to Metcalfe County and J.P. Blevins, who came back to beat Trigg 94-90 in the first round in Richmond.

 

I agree about OCath being the tournament favorite. UHA almost blew a 19-point lead to Trigg County in the region final and now this.

UHA only beat a Mackins-less Trigg team by six points ... they are clearly not the favorite.

Points off turnovers sticks out in this one.

Phil Keller has said he is still looking for a another consistent inside guy to go along with Metcalf. They had that in 6'3 235 Chris Evans until he transferred to Hopkins Co. Central. 6'4 Scotty Hopson is going to be a stud for them but right now he is inconsistent and young. Good finisher but the effort is not always there.

 

Josh Mack isn't a 100% and if this was just a regular season game he probably would be sitting out.
