June 7, 201313 yr Use a drone to attack my family. Is there anything your hero could do that doesn't involve you that could cause you to raise an eyebrow or are you, like I suspect most Dems to be, while preaching the "care about my fellow man" party line the reality is that as long as it doesn't affect you personally it is off your radar?

I'd be upset if a Drone targeted YOU....but I'm an Independent, not a Democrat.
June 7, 201313 yr The way I post on here and seeing as how I'm a Verizon customer I wish I felt that possibility was as far fetched today as I did a year ago.

There's plenty he can do to upset me and cause me to raise an eyebrow. Hearing his 'faults' and 'wrongdoings' from his haters isn't going to make me raise an eyebrow. People who hated him in 2007 still hate him in 2013. Why would I listen to anything the haters have to say? There is absolutely nothing he has done to date that has made me pause. Nothing. He's a politician and I recognize him as such. He's good at what he does. Politic.
June 7, 201313 yr I realize this is a lost cause at this point, but no one outside of the right is buying the Susan Rice as a sinister cog in the Benghazi conspiracy argument. She reiterated talking points she was given on television. This is unfortunate, because she's being tapped to fill a very important and influential position. We could be having a discussion about the direction of the national security apparatus in this country, how she will shape it going forward, what kind of national security advice she might dispense, and what problems may stem from that. Instead we are left with faux-outrage over something no one actually finds outrageous. It's the reality-TV version of politics and it's not taken seriously.

He's a politician and I recognize him as such. He's good at what he does. Politic. So, because he is a politician he gets a free pass from you? Were you as disinterested when Bush was screwing up? I would wager not. I didn't hate him in 2007, don't hate him now. Disagree with his policies and direction for the country. His leadership is suspect at best. By his own press secretary's account, he must be the most uninformed POTUS in history. All Carney can ever say about the recent scandals is that the POTUS didn't know about them. Plausible deniability in these cases is not plausible.

I guess I just find it either amazing, disheartening, or infuriating (I can't decide which) that the Obamunists shoved the whole "Change you can count on", transparency, culture of corruption, post-politics and all of the other rhetoric that was used to get this guy elected down our throats is now seemingly forgotten. Even as cynical as I am I'm totally shocked that people like you are so willing to give him a pass because he's a politician and that's what they do. He's doing exactly what I expected him to do so my outrage with him is pretty much constant. I have a much bigger problem with the people that helped elect him that are just turning a blind eye to his obvious corruption, dishonesty or incompetence (again I'm not real sure which). Had he not run on the whole "change we can believe in" mantra and not been pushed on us as such a great unifier I really don't think I would feel this way, I would most likely see it as politics as usual.

The death of 4 Americans while the WH did nothing but issue stand down orders and with hold support is not faux outrage. The lying after the fact makes it worse. Most I know are very outraged. Many in the military. Many who are retired military.
June 7, 201313 yr Habib is correct that the problem originated higher than Susan Rice. Yes, but she was willing messenger. Given that there is no basis in events or fact for the video/riot story it is clear it was a total fabrication created in Washington. I am not outraged at the move. Politically - its a slick one to be admired for its audacity.
