June 7, 201313 yr I just found it interesting that I had you pegged for someone who would most of the time be against law enforcement and then go and read your posts in the other thread and right away you bring up something that didn't need to be in there in the first place. Your assumptions toward police officers are exactly what I thought. You can't make a comment in a thread without bashing them in some manner. I hit the nail right on the head. If that's what you got out of the post you quoted, well, your reading comprehension is lacking and I don't know what to tell you. Criticizing law enforcement personnel who screw up is not "bashing" them. I'm just pointing out that those guys and gals, as enforcers of the laws of the land, should be held to a higher standard than Average Joe Citizen.

No, it's just that I live here, and can tell how angry and vulnerable local law enforcement officials feel about this incident. And besides, the chief himself said it first. It's why it's a good thing KSP is handling the investigation.

When you try to side with law enforcement you always seem to slip in a back handed compliment. In the Bardatown tragedy alone you qualify your post with "he was known to rough up people he arrested" or something along those lines. Then you basically assume that the police will kill the culprits instead of following the law and arresting them. It's your constant assumption that police take the law into their own hands that gets me.
June 7, 201313 yr I honestly do not believe Jim meant any disrespect towards the Bardstown officer with the statements he made. Some police probably get a reputation. Doesn't mean it's true or that the people he "roughed up" weren't roughed up for a reason.
June 7, 201313 yr I agree with you halfback, I was just proving to Jim who started this assumption thing by calling me out first with zero proof that I on the other hand could quote him to prove a point. When he made a false blanket statement about me I wanted to show how ignorant he was with such assumptions. Hopefully it taught him to be careful how he painted some people on here simply because they have a different opinion of something.

You said that he, UK and I were always against what the officers do. You are real quick to judge us. I haven't ever said that officers are always in the wrong. I will, however, post and speak out when I think someone abuses their authority. Police officers have people's lives in their hands. If they are wrong someone can die--including the officers. Thankfully that wasn't the case here. However, these officers abused their authority and were dismissed for it. You say that the accused "disregarded a lawful order" and suffered the consequences. Then why were the officers dismissed and the charges dropped? Sounds like the accused was trying to exercise her rights and was denied them. The officers were found to be in the wrong, not her. I admire police officers and the job that they do. They are not perfect however, and when they mess up they have to be accountable. The job I work requires that we do it properly or people will be injured or die. Not one or two but potentially hundreds. I don't get a mulligan. Police officers shouldn't either.
