So you're saying you watched all of both freshman and JV games and saw no talent? Or did you just watch one of the two and assume there's no talent from either. Or are you a disgruntled parent (no offense meant)? Your opinion is fine, but I'm sure many others would say inaccurate, and I am hoping opposing coaches are thinking the same thing as far as no talent.

So you saw the Frosh team after the first 2 games in which they played Ryle back to back win the majority of the remaining games, yet they have no talent? Is that right?

I guess you can say they will take a step back unless they make the title game in BG. I still say they will make the playoffs and be right there in districts. I don't think they are thin at the skill positions. Many returnees were contributors last year.

The reason I ask is the fact that I have already pointed out that the QB position will be the only skill position on offense that will have a new player starting at that position. So i'm not sure what you mean by thin at skilled positions.

 

Skill positions returning. Avery Bricking, Corey Fussinger, Aaron Morgan, Will Ludwig all returning starters on offense and all played skill positions last year.

Fussinger starting WR since 2011 and was 2nd on team in receptions that year behind senior AJ Branch. Morgan starting DB since 2011 and starting WR last year led team in receptions in 2012. Avery Bricking starting LB 2012 and starting FB/RB avg'd 12 yards a carry in 2012 played along side AJ Collins. Will Ludwig starting TE 2012 and starting DE 2012.

 

Those are 4 players who have started at skill positions on the 2012 State Runner up team all playing skill positions. So not sure where they are thin at those positions.

And except for Beechwood and us, you guys had the best D. We were just bigger.

Well like i sd before the season is right around the corner so we will find out but if you want to keep at it just because someone "plays a skill position doesn't make them good at that position they just play it because there isnt anyone better so like i sd my opinion is that they are thin at the skill positions. But this is nky and they dont have to be that good to be competitive. I just think in the coming years cooper will be really tough to beat I just dont think its gonna be this year but again like I sd we will find out.

Do not sleep on this Cooper team. While they did lose some great playmakers, they return a lot of players who can make an impact. Coach Borchers not only does a great job of getting the most out of his athletes but his assistants as well. This in turn makes for better assistants and kids that are better prepared. Borchers is a coach that grades you as how good he knows you can be and not on how good you are. Cooper will be competitive and do just fine this year.

I think what KC may be referring is Coach Borchers let's his "coaches coach" and does not have to be involved in every single detail which allows him to manage the overall scope of the team. The staff has alot of experience with several playing at the D1 level and all of them relate well with the players. As noted with the loss of those 5-6 key senior players from last season it will be tough for the Jags this season to return to BG but there WILL be some surprises in 2013.

The 2 WR's have started since sophomore year and Cooper hasn't been like Ryle and Boone the last 2 years with a ground and pound offense only. That plus the fact Bricking who avg'd over 10 yards a carry last year, I'd love for you to tell us who isn't good at the skill positions that are returning. Is it the we who has been 2nd in receptions the last 2 years on the team and has avg'd over 20 yards a reception or is it the other we who led the team in catches and TDs among the receivers last year or is it the RB who avg'd 10 yards a carry? Please enlighten us.
