Reading through the thread it appears you are the one doing all the assuming. You said yourself you don't believe the officers statements and only because you are assuming he's lying to cover up for the other officer.

You have no clue, I spent much more time in supervision in my career "passing judgment" on other cops.

 

Again, for everyone that wants to look objectively, I am doing my best to present proper police protocol in this situation and I have already said this needs to be investigated fully to see what, if any, negligence/policy violations/law violations etc. were violated.

 

Cops are no different than any other profession. It's human nature to stick up for one of your own. I'd almost assuredly do the same if this was a thread about some sort of accounting fraud/embezzlement. I wouldn't claim to be objective though.

You are clearly automatically going to side against the police In this case seeing as how you don't need any investigation before making statements that the officer should already be charged.

IA is a tough crowd if they determine it to be a clean shooting, just have to move on and learn from it.

My neighbors alarm goes off, I walk outside (legally carrying) and see two individuals across the street with weapons drawn and pointed at me. The individuals are cops, but don't announce that they're LE. If I shoot one, am I justified in your opinion?

You can word it anyway you want. It doesn't matter who's property you are on, if you point a gun at police it's not going to end well for you. Right now we have nothing proving the officer lied about what happened.

 

The fact that you think we know enough now to charge the officer with manslaughter makes me very glad you are not in a profession tasked with investigating incidents like this.

I just don't understand why you think it is ok to do the opposite and automatically think they were wrong.

 

I don't think anyone here is automatically saying the police were right. Most just prefer to wait and let investigators determine whether it was a good shoot or not.
