I see Collinsworth listed here, where did he play? What about Jake Heck, Colin Seidl and Mitchell Gesenhues (did they play?) The Birds should be pretty strong going forward with many kids that got varsity experience returning and a successful JV and Frosh season.

 

I believe Heck entered for an inning or so in right field. At that time Seidl moved from right (where he started) to left. Seidl then moved back to right. Do not believe Gesenhues played.

Collinsworth DH'd for Jones. Seidl played RF. Heck was an 8th inning defensive sub in RF with a LH batter up in a potential sac fly situation due to his strong arm.

The kid can pitch, the thing that impressed me the most about him was time and time again after getting himself into jams he was able to pull it together and shut the Birds down.

I think TOG's post was in reply to some Highlands fans who stated things like "Highlands got the best draw with SH", "the Bluebirds can throw off", and things like that. TOG told them at the time that with Kuebbing on the mound, Highlands will have their hands full. It does seem like TOG did 'tell them so' while others thought it would be a cake walk for HHS.

Only the misinformed would have thought that... Kuebbing can bring it... Throwing a CG 110 pitch effort after a long layoff was very very impressive. Not surprised by the HBPs after the layoff.

Maybe "cake walk" wasn't the appropriate term but some did believe HHS had it easier than every other first round team.
