I still don't understand and probably never will what there is to hate about Brad Culpepper. I'm pulling for him hard to get back into this game.

 

If Kandace doesn't react the way she does at those Redemption Islands, people don't dislike him. Heck even her husband doesn't agree with her.

I have seen her around. She's the one who is screaming at the coach and the other parents at her kids' games.

She is the evil fun sucker at the office that everyone is afraid of.

The "hate" for Brad is because he put the target on his own back. First, he is a strong player so he is automatically a target. The strong always get targeted. Second, he got too out front on vote manipulation. Third, and the grand fail, he destroyed his own alliance way too early. His biggest fail in the game was voting out John. That created distrust among everyone in his alliance. Then when he tossed Caleb's name to the two girls, Caleb lost all trust and made the move he did. I can't fault Caleb at all. However, look at the irony. Now that Caleb made that move, he has lost trust with the other two guys that were supposedly tight with him. Brad should have kept that strong man alliance going as long as he could. By backstabbing John, he brought all the distrust and antagonism on himself.

I should have worded my post better. I don't understand the hate that he receives from some people who watch Survivor (mostly a few women in my office). He didn't play the game maliciously like many have in the past. He wasn't blatantly rude to people. He made a move or two (a dumb one I agree) but it's crazy to me that he is so hated by quite a few people I know who are fans of the show.

I think Brad's problem with the viewers is the same reason I don't like him. It's not the way he played the game. It's the tings he can't control, his body language and his facial expressions. Some of the looks he gave the camera at tribals. I can't really explain why, he just rubs me the wrong way.

I don't like Brad's seeming need to be the center of attention. Even after he was booted he had to butt in and tell Caleb he wasn't mad at him. I can't put my finger on it but there's something about him that's just unlikable to me.

No. He's not even in my top 5. He's not intentionally mean like Russell Hantz, as hateful and wimpy as Colton Cumbie, as sour and nasty as Randy Bailey, as condescending as Rob Mariano or as big a coat tail rider as Amber Brkich.

It really isn't necessarily what he says because he is usually saying the right thing. It is the way he says it, the timing of it and the way he handles himself.

Editing...What we see is a 1-2 minute cut up of multiple conversations that happen. They could make any person out there look like a jerk or look like a saint. It's all about how they want to portray each person. Brad, being the ex-athlete, is an easy target for the cocky, arrogant edit.

However, he did have a lot of people cheering for him in the RI challenge, more than I can ever recall cheering for someone. Interestingly, it seemed like it was all members of the other tribe cheering, not his former tribe.

They didn't really have a connection to any of the three, so they were probably doing it for Monica's benefit.
