Great kid and an even greater set of parents. It's been a pleasure to know Drew and watch him develop. I was with him at both the NUC combines mentioned and he performed very well. Wherever he ends up he will do well. He's a competitor with a strong work ethic.

loved the article. So glad it is out there to help others. I know I shouldn't say this, but if it wasn't for Mr.Sixer and Drew's father I would have no idea what my boy needed to do.

I always knew that you have to go to camps and combines to get noticed, just playing on Friday Nights unless you are a Mr Kentucky candidate will not get you noticed. Both Mr.Sixer and Drew's father has given me the advice needed to get my boy headed in the right direction which has been a world of help due to the fact my boy hasn't been able to attend many camps at all due to playing other sports. Yet the one or two combines he was able to attend just this year has set up several visits and calls from coaches which he would never of gotten if not for the help of their guidance.

 

Just with 1 good performance at a carefully chosen camp has gotten him to not only the NUC100 invite but also theRivals 5 star invite. He couldn't make them because of baseball but they did get him noticed.

 

 

His first visit is this Monday to meet coaches etc. and I can't thank those 2 enough for all the help they have given us.

 

I am so excited for Drew and I hope he really enjoys his big day tomorrow!!! Good Luck Drew!

So very true. Many have questioned whether you really have to spend money at camps, recruiting services etc. Sopme have questioned others that pay for services, but I can only speak from my own personal experience and I think Drew's dad among others will say the same thing and that is there really isn't much of a choice, you have to spend money to get noticed in todays competitive athletic world.

 

If you don't attend camps/combines etc. and travel to those as well as get a service that is out there to promote the athlete with highlight video etc. then it is very difficult to get noticed. I've said it before and I will say it again, the way Drew went about this entire process was awesome and without doing what he and his family did, the sacrifices made to get to the camps, send out letters and video's etc. then we may not even be talking about the big day he is having today in the first place.

 

I've mentioned it before about a certain player for Ryle who was already getting looks even before he was a starter his sophomore year and it was because he was attending camps and getting noticed. He was already getting contacted before he even took a single snap as a starter. You have to get your name out there and the only way to do that these days is to get to camps and look into recruiting services.

They are very good and a ton of colleges use them to find players.

Ncsa will get your kid invited to camps. A kid at Ryle " sophomore " hasn't started varsity yet and is getting questionnaire sheets mailed to him "D1" and invites to all types of national camps. He uses NCSA. OH yea he has talent too. You still have to have the ability and the body. They will get you noticed if you do.

As for NCSA, The Sowards, England, "Ryle" Aaron Morgan, Fussinger, "Cooper" I've seen a few potential D1 kids on there from the area.
