Blue Blazer what does AAU basketball have to do with high school basketball? Those are all star teams. Do AAU teams scout and gameplan like good high school coaches? Put Vanhoose, Clark, Blair, Blanton, etc on Ashland and I am sure they would be winners again.

 

Now, now J. Bilas, just because you don't win B-ball games doesn't mean you aren't a winner. They are winners in life and coaching is about teaching life lessons!! You should know that! :lol:

That's one of the things I really like about Dicky. He's not afraid to tell it like it is. If the Cats are playing bad, he will say just how bad they are playing, and that they aren't a very good team. Dicky will always bleed maroon and white, and isn't a bandwagon jumper, but he will criticize the play of the Tomcats when he feels it is warranted.

They way he slows it down though, it might take awhile to hit those "green acres". :ylsuper:

I don't remember him slowing it down when they had more talent. Maybe he is just playing the style, that gives a team with very little depth, the best chance to win. Or maybe all of that success that Flynn has had at Ashland and before was just luck.

Yes it does. I don't think Tubby and Flynn are the ones who need bashed though.

This Ashland team is hard to figure. They are probably going to make it to the regional tourney this year thanks to the luck-of-the-draw, but I don't see anyway that they can make a run this year. I thought that they might get on a roll after beating Boyd, but I guess I was dead wrong.

Thanks for proving my point. And if you honestly look at the district you will understand any team can be beaten on any given night, ESPECIALLY Ashland. Rose Hill is a very young team but they certainly have the ability to pull an "upset".

I'm sure that the Ashland coaches and players went in to the game to win......

 

I'll SAY IT AGAIN let the coaches coach and the kids play. I'm no round ball genuis but I'm POSSITIVE that all involved in the Ashland program KNOW what is going on (both on the court and what's said here).....

 

Get a grip guys we're not the best team all the time and we haven't been this season....To be honest the only people that can change that are our kids!!! And if a few of you haven't figured this out yet "they" either read this or "hear" it...

 

I still have the up most respect for OUR kids that go out there every night. Their TOMCATS!!! And those guys need our support right now not...BLAH....BLAH...BLAH...

 

Its time to buck up as a Tomcat Nation and get behind this kids instead of trying to figure out why???? The District is right around the corner and I am personally tired of the complaints!!! Get behind these Tomcats or STOP posting.....

 

I support the Tomcats 100%, but they have dropped a ton of respect this year that has been built up over decades and it is someone's fault!! I know the players on the team are giving it their all, but are ALL the BEST Tomcat players playing this season??? And if not, then WHY??? I don't blame the players that suit up, but I do blame the others for allowing the program to be damaged!

You are correct! RH is a team that Ashland could blow out or lose to on a given night! That is what the chances of Ashland going to the Regional come down to!

Glad I could help! I agree with you but I believe that if all parties involved would have had the option, the Royals would have been their 1st choice-thats all. In the next several years, that mightnot be the case.

WVA Boy, I'm saying with 3 All- Stars as you put it. The ingredients for winning are there. Matt at point, Robbie as an outside shooter, and Drew as a Mr. Everything inside and outside. I believe that 90% of the coaches in the 16th would like to have these 3 kids on the floor playing for them night in and night out. I understand they are missing some off the AAU team,but Williams, Cannoy, and Bonner are pretty good players also. I'm stating that they have talent WVA Boy!!! I know off that AAU team that is not relevant Mr. Bilas East Carter only had Dearfield!! I'll take 3 to 1 odds anyday!!! Nevertheless obviously I guess we are all wondering why Ashland is losing games, or this thread wouldn't exist! I still look for the to beat Rose Hill! And as I said make a run in the Regionals!!

What a disappointing loss. Our run to the tournament didn’t last very long – maybe it was a false start.

 

I love all of the posts from the Ashland haters. They can’t log on fast enough with their posts, like circling buzzards waiting to swoop in. Enjoy the feast - but beware, this season isn’t over yet.
