Back before country became what it is today, there were many barnstorming tours, done by multiple singers. One such tour stopped at what is now the Campbell County Middle School gym, when it was first built - I'm guessing about 1960. On the playbill was George Jones, Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl, and a young man named Hank Williams, Jr., and many others. They played two shows, I believe, one in the afternoon and one that evening. I attended the afternoon show.

It was the same day that a partial eclipse of the sun took place. I'm wondering if anyone has a program, or a playbill from that day, or does anyone else even remember that show???

Alan Jackson closed out the memorial today with "He Stopped Loving Her Today."

Don't recall Alan Jackson removing his hat during a live performance much, but he did at the end of this out of respect for ol' George.

Not sure why, but this George Jones song is very hard to find. I think it might be the best song he ever did. Very rarely played on Willie's Roadhouse, and at the last I tried, not available on ITunes.
