April 24, 201313 yr Really? I mean I would like to have him too, however if they have to spend a 2nd round pick on him then no thanks. What is he projected as going? Is he projected in the 2nd? I really don't know however I would assume maybe the 4th would be the earliest for him, or he could even end up sliding all the way out like Vontez did last year. 2 years ago if he could have come out he would have been a top 5 pick. I could care less what the draft guru's project him as, they have been wrong a ton more than they've been right over the years.
April 24, 201313 yr They probably would be able to get the Honey Badger in the 3rd round and I agree, I'd like that gamble. He can return, good special teams player, and has a chip on his shoulder now. I also would like the Bengals to take a huge risk with Marcus Lattimore. We definitely need a RB, and he's a 1st round talent, it's just as everyone obviously knows, his knee injuries. I'd definitely like that gamble. RB is a glaring need though because of Scott's injury history, and Leonard gone now. I'd also like the Bengals to get a receiver to hopefully help A.J Green receive less double teams, and a safety would be a good bet. It's a shame though we couldn't have Oakland's first rounder this year though....

It's a shame though we couldn't have Oakland's first rounder this year though.... I had a discussion the other day about the Honey Badger. He has the potential and may now have his head on straight. I think the 3rd is to high. If he's there in the 4th, which he may be, then I'd take him there. Saw something where 12 teams were asked about drafting him and 9 said no way.
April 24, 201313 yr I know I'm kind of drinking the orange/black koolaid here, but after reading this, I'm kind of excited about the LB group as a whole this year. Backers breakdown
April 24, 201313 yr NFL channel had a mock draft and Mouch (EX 49ers Coach) picked Patterson WR from Tennessee. Lacy did not go in the first round.
April 24, 201313 yr Speaking of Lacy someone told me Dave Lapham said Lacy's got some health/injury concerns and he wouldn't draft him. Anyone else hear anything like that?
April 24, 201313 yr 2 years ago if he could have come out he would have been a top 5 pick. I could care less what the draft guru's project him as, they have been wrong a ton more than they've been right over the years. He wouldn't have been a top 5 pick two years ago either. The corner opposite of him two years ago was regarded as the better corner than him, however the honeybadger did make some very big plays obviously which is why he was a Heisman finalist. Being a Heisman finalist means nothing though when it comes to your game working well in the NFL. We could also say the same things about other players if they had came out in a certain year. Shoot Matt Barkley probably would have been a top 10 pick last year, and now he might not go in the first round this year. Vontez Burfict would have been a 1st round pick if he had came out earlier, however him waiting made him not even get drafted. Which he didn't get drafted and he was at least playing football still. The honeybadger didn't even play last year. Now don't get me wrong I would still love to have him however no way do I use a 2nd round pick to get him. If he is still there in the 3rd or 4th then maybe I would start considering then and that could also be to early still.
April 25, 201313 yr Lance McAlister made a good point today. He said the only way the Bengals have not earned your trust in the draft is if you've not been paying attention, or that person is sticking to their 90's bullet points. Geez glad to know I am not the only one who thinks this like I have been told on here haha.
April 25, 201313 yr Peter King said on "Mike and Mike" that the Bengals are really high on Eddie Lacy and he feels the Bengals are the only team that would draft lacy in the first round. Then he adds, (summarizing) "the Bengals have a very unorthodox way of drafting, they basically don't care what everyone else says and they draft who they want". I'm ok with a team drafting who they think is best for their team.
April 25, 201313 yr Author T-minus a few days and we find out how well the Bengals meet need in the draft…GO BENGALS!
April 25, 201313 yr McShay has the Bengals taking Lacy at 21 even with Vaccaro on the board, if that is the case I know everybody won't be very happy.
