After he left I took another photo to give the first photo perspective:

Did any people with handicap placards pull up while he was there?

Make sure you read the other thread first.

No, he was getting ready to leave as I pulled in, good thing my one handed iphone photo skills are getting better.

Guessing that he does this at this location daily...until business owner says something to him I would say this will continue. Hard to break bad habits!

There is a great South Park episode that deals with "bad" UPS Drivers.

Probably best for its own thread but I need to see it. Also, I love the SP episode about "Raisins" (Hooters for little kids) and Ms. Garrison teaching evolution. I cry I laugh so hard.

"Raisins" was a Classic

It's ironic that there trucks are brown because UPS is a turd of a company.

Read the other thread... This is my opinion.

Handicap spots are abused by both those with and without the proper credentials. Add me to the awful group that doesn't see a problem with the driver parking there for a few seconds, with the ramp and a full handicap spot still very much accessible. I agree that the driver shouldn't have done it, I wouldn't. But as long as there is still handicap access to the building, I don't see the harm in him being there for a short period of time. Not trying to sound cold hearted or anything, as I firmly believe that those needing handicap accessibility deserve it. In this particular photo, however, there is still a parking space available, and the ramp is accessible.

I've probably seen more people WITH placards abuse these spots than people without. If you can walk into a business as well as I can, you have no reason to be in a handicap spot. Just my two cents.

I think Deuce hit something here. It probably makes me as mad if not madder when I see people with a placard abuse it. I've got 2 examples...1. I go to the Y to lift 4 days a week. There is a guy that started coming several months ago. He has a placard and parks in one of the handicap spots. I've seen him do every single lift in the gym including squats, bench, shoulder press, ect... 2. my sister-in-law had back surgery a couple of years ago. She had to have reconstructive work done to her lower back (i believe it was called a fusion). Long story short it didn't take and she now has to use a walker to get around. She can't drive but she has a placard to use for whoever is driving her. When ever she is us I always drop her off at the door and refuse to use the placard to park in a handicap spot. This weekend we were in Nashville for a family wedding. The rehearsal dinner was down town on 2nd street. My brother-in-law dropped her off at the door of the restaurant then parked in a parking garage across the street. When we left we both went up the elevator together (we ended up parking on the same level) and I noticed he parked in a handicap spot.

I am pretty forward, I would kindly ask the guy at the gym if I could ask him a personal question, if he gave me the green light I would ask him about it in a non-judgmental way.

And to Deuce, read the thread with the purple scooter in it, the UPS truck is taking up the van accessible space too so this is a problem.

And I will say this everyone, there were plenty of other spaces in the parking lot.

Still doesn't change my opinion... I'm obviously no expert as BF is on this subject, so I can't really speak on the matter of room needed.

If there is no one trying to use the space(s), I don't have a problem with it. If there were/are, fine the guilty driver $1,000 and he/she wont do it again...
