It it does seem obvious but how long are they going to play with his life and not go through with actually killing him? This will be at least the third time he has escaped a certain death from the hands of Pope's crew.

I think that sealed his fate.

Looks like Clay's new gig is the prison assassin. Even the guards are in on it by giving him back the weapon in solitary.

Classic case of "kill or be killed".

If Tigs not killed this time does he become like Batman (tv version) or James Bond, always in some perilous situation only to slither out of it at the last moment.
