This should be a very good game, but it's also only Cooper's 2nd game of the year so hopefully the rust isn't too bad. I'll be real curious who the Jags pitch today. They haven't played since Saturday their one and only game thus far and only allowed their pitchers to pitch 2 innings each. Beechwood sounds like a very strong squad and I'm curious if Cooper will throw Dunn again today or not, and if so what will his pitch count be. Should be a good game. any game is a good game at this point, I'm tired of cancellations and just want to watch a ball game.

Rust will be there for both. How can it not?

 

My guess is Cooper throws 2 to 3 pitchers regardless of how they do.

I would look for both teams to throw at least two if not three pitchers, and I agree with Clyde, rust will be a factor with both teams, BW did play two last Saturday and it showed in the field more than a few times. Any idea of what time the game is? Would love to see it, I heard Cooper is loaded.

Beechwood run ruled Cooper in 6. Cooper pitchers couldn't throw strikes and BW down 3-2 scored 6 runs with 2 outs in the 4th and that was all she wrote.

 

 

Final was somewhere around 16-6 or something like that.

Both teams hit really well.

Was Cooper missing players because of the basketball banquet?

Whoa ... 16-6 ... the young Tigers are off to a better start than I expected.

They can deffinatley hit. It was actually a pretty good game until one of Coopers relievers fell apart after getting 2 outs with Cooper leading 3-2, then the wheels came off.

 

I don't have the official stats, but both teams hit well. Jared Blank and Fussinger and Carr I believe had mulitple hits each, although I probably just jinxed Fussinger, he's hitting 1.000 so far. Blank hit the ball hard and Nick carr also continues hitting well. Cooper was without a couple starters due to Basketball Banquet.

Tiger frosh seem to be ok so far. From what Ive been told, Combs had two hits and two rbi vs Grant and two more vs Cooper with 3 rbi, hitting out of 4 hole. Stringer had 3 hits and two rbi vs Grant and two hits and 3 rbi last night, hitting in 2 hole. Fieger pitched last 3 innings last night and gave up one run. Heading out tomorrow to NKU to watch them vs Campbell County.

Combs is a solid lefthanded hitter. His footing a bit shaky at 3B, but hey he is a Freshman. Stringer a go getter in CF. Both certainly play above their grade level. Fieger has proven to be a decent reliever. So far Beechwood looks decent. As for the reports that there would be 4 freshman starters in the starting lineup for the Tigers, that has not been true. Looks like Combs and Stringer are starters and Fieger and Slusher come off the bench. Beechwood off to a 3 + 0 start is encouraging. Not world beaters, but decent.

 

As for Cooper, the three pitchers they used Thursday need to mix up their pitches a bit. The last two in particular were one pitch guys. Good luck to the Jags and the Tigers for the remainder of 2013. Catching was an area where Cooper looked stronger.
