I'm in NKY and we seem to use "visitation" in formal settings and "layout" when speaking informally.

My family calls it layout but I've heard it called visitation and wake.

Here in Edmonson County it is visitation

Growing up in Indiana, it was the "Calling".

Visitation/Viewing and Layout, heard all three. The layout seemed to come from the older people in my community growing up (Owsley).
