Let me get this straight, Ashland loses by 51 to CovCath, and LexCath by 9 both away. Wow what a difference time makes.

If the stats I heard are correct (or anywhere near correct), CCH had 37 possessions where they gave it back without getting off a shot - 24 TOs and 13 steals by LC.

 

 

FYI, steals are included in the turnovers. CCh's 24 turnovers included 13 steals by LexCath.

If CCh was sloppier than they were in the 5/3rd classis they were indeed sloppy. They did not have Tierney and they appeared to have about as many to's as points.

We've been over this 100 times. Lex Cath played Scott Co. the night before Ashland at home in front of a packed house and won. This obviously took a tremendous amount of energy from them to beat their dreaded rival. The next night they played Ashland in Frankfort in front of nobody. Very hard to come back after the Scott Co. game. If they played again I think the result would be different.

Like i said Ashland had a game the night before in which their players played the whole game, and their not a deep team(7deep). My point is just that a little time can do wonders for a basketball team.

It’s funny, because up here in NKy CovCath is never called “Catholic”, as no one would ever know who you were talking about. I guess the Herald Leader is trying to save ink or is it because Lexington is too ashamed to admit that they have a Catholic High School in town.

But in this day and age of the Internet, you are no longer just writing to the "locals" any more. I just wounder if they would use "County scores last eight to win" when they talk about Scott or any other County School? It is really just a bad headline!

This was a good game to watch. Got sloppy at times, but with both teams putting on constant pressure and turnovers were more occuring than baskets it was uggly. But CCH impressed me by getting back into the game in the 3rd and then taking the lead. This was the second game in row CCH got down double digits at the half and came back right out of the gates to get it close.

 

On a side not. Those two officials were struggling last night. Looked like they were trained by the 9th Region. Couldn't get a charge or a block right all night. They both really had a hard time keeping up with the pace. Why wasn't there a 3rd official?
