14th Region Championship. Knott County Central's second straight championship. Perry only had 8 points at halftime.

Only if Estill had upset KCC yesterday.

Wow Didn't expect them to win that much, but did think they would win.

Perry Couldn't throw it into the ocean.

Perry played as bad as possible tonight. They couldn't make a basket even when they were right under the goal. And Beverly kept penetrating to the basket and then short-arming his shot. Cornett had a bad game too. They just didn't seem ready to play, and were tight all game long. On the other hand, Knott played a solid game, under control. Never seemed to get rattled.

The gym is nice but it's just too small for a regional. Couldn't possibly hold more than 2500, and that's counting the people standing around the top rails. They had to shuttle people from distant parking lots up the hill to the gym. Parking is a major problem. I coming to the conclusion that the best idea for the regional tournament is to simply have it in the most central location in the region every year, in a site that can hold the crowd without using split sessions and also has plenty of parking where shuttles aren't needed. The only place that fits that bill is Perry County Central. We drove almost 100 miles tonight to get to the game, a 200 mile round trip. Its almost as far when we go to Hindman. Perry Central is about a 50 mile drive for us located in the northern sections of the region, and I suppose about that distance for the people in other parts of the region. Just make a central location and go with it. Play it there every year and stop the split sessions, parking woes, and long distance driving.

Where is it scheduled to be at next season? For some reason thought the regional was always held at KCC because of the sixe of their gym.

If its 50 miles for you to PCC, it's 15-20 more to KCC. Knotts gym holds more than Perry and it would be a cold day in you know where before KCC and a few others allow PCC to host year in and out. That being said, LCC doesn't need to host again. Capacity and parking are jokes.

Perry hosts next seasons region.

Take it from me. That isn't going to be a popular idea.

I have always been an advocate of allowing each of the four districts to choose a site within their district to host our tournament and go to a four site rotation. But for some reason Hazard and Letcher Central are both in our rotation making it a 6 school plan. The other sites are Powell, Breathitt, Knott, and Perry. Hazard and Letcher have gyms that only hold about 2500 fan and their parking is terrible. So since everyyone seems to complain about the distance to Powell or distance to Letcher or distance to Knott, just simplify it and make it one central location---Perry Central's 4500 seat gym. But I agree that will never happen.

Explain? I still dont think Estill co could have beat PCC even with a ice cold shooting night.

I've seen Perry Central played over 10 times this season and never seen them shoot this bad.

They played Knott a lot better than they did PCC. Estill has been to the region semi-finals 6 times in the school's history but never to the finals, the old Irvine high school has been to the Sweet 16 but not the county school

Perry Couldn't throw it into the ocean.

How are the people in Perry County dealing with this lopsided loss? I thought with the new Coach and the transfer, Johnson that they could go at least a game or two in the Sweet 16. Do the folks in the 14th like Coach King at KCC? I love this region.
