I heard from a heavily involved athletic booster at Newport at the District Final that the coach would be named by March 1st. I later talked to the same person at the Region game against Cov Cath and he said the administration would have someone by the 15th.

 

Not sure of the reason for delay, but this is a major disadvantage for the kids at Newport.

They had a Coach from Tennessee. He backed out today. Search is starting over. I feel bad for kids in Newport.

Wow! That is awful for the kids of Newport. Hopeful round 2 of the search doesn't take as long as Round 1 did. :banghead:

Surely they had a second choice whom they will now offer the job. It would be a major administrative failure if they have to go through the whole process again.

Ok, so Boone has named a HFC leaving Newport as the only job in NKY yet to be filled (that has been posted longer than the weekend...Lloyd).

Program is a direct result of the overall issues at Newport from the BOE down.

Last I had heard today was supposed to be announcement day....Anything? Or still just a bunch of Crickets??

Beginning to think this thread cares more than half the City of Newport. Or would that be a stretch?

What are the odds that Newport wins a game this year? I'd say slim to none.. I can't believe that they haven't hired a coach yet. I can't imagine the candidate pool is very deep. I know I wouldn't want any part of that program to begin with, much less now after all of this B.S. going on with hiring of a coach.. Maybe it's taken so long, because no one wants it, and they have no candidates??
