Holmes 66 Beechwood 42

Miller, the administration, and teachers did everything in the world to help that kid get eligible this year. He had time off from practice to study, extra credit assignments, and they let him have until Christmas break to get his academics back in order. In the end, the kid just could not make it happen. With regard to last year, the overall issue was constantly being ineligible or constantly being on the brink of ineligibility. The staff simply could not play him consistently knowing that he would not be available the next week. Eventually, he got dismissed from the team for another reason that I won’t go into out of deference for the kid but rest assured that the staff had no choice. Despite that fact, they tried to work with him again this year.

Overall though, his lack of playing time and eventually not being on the team was entirely within his ability to control and he didn’t. Any suggestion to the contrary is ignorant of the situation.

Thanks for the details and clarification.

My first time seeing Holmes this year and I was just amazed regarding Bolden's talent. Some of the moves he made and his ball handling...WOW!! That kid is D1 right now. He could be really something by end of his senior year with the Bulldogs and I'm sure he still has some growing to do. As Walter already said, the Tigers just didn't have the depth to hang for the full 32 minutes, but a very hard fought valiant effort by Beechwood. They have a couple of good youngsters in Freshman Kyle Fieger who I heard is their QB next year and the Huff kid who is a Sophomore. Walter, are the stats the ones Holmes did or mine, because I had Englemon with 15 rebounds also.

I will reassure #21 from BW that he's on a long list that is going to get a lot longer over the next 2 years of kids that have been killed by the crossover of Bolden.

Does anyone in the 9th Region have worse looking uniforms than Beechwood?

The team's that played at Turners, on Pike Street, back in the early 1980's had better looking uniforms than the Tigers.

Bolden is a beast, best of luck to the Bulldogs.

A friend told me that Bolden went to Twitter to praise the effort of the BW Tigers in this game.

Very, very nice gesture. I'm sure the Tigers appreciated the shout out.
