The Indians won their eighth in a row and advanced to the district finals with an easy victory over the Colonels in the tournament opener.

The Indians outscored Bourbon 27-11 in the first quarter and led 47-27 at the half. Montgomery forced 18 turnovers and made 11 shots from long range, led by Bryan Wallace with five three-pointers.

Wallace paced the Indians with 25 points, followed by standout Omar Prewitt with 20.

Tyler Jones added 10 for Montgomery, which made 19-of-28 free throws and shot 48 percent from the field, including a 45-percent clip from behind the arc.

Am I missing something? I am confused as to why a coach would let his player miss the district tournament for anything, let alone a football combine.

That was just how it sounded. You are suggesting he told him not to go to the combine and he went anyway? Either way it seems like a selfish move to miss the biggest game of the season.

No I am saying nobody said whether the coach said ok go ahead or the player made the decision for himself.............or his parents made the decision for him.

I would say it's very frustrating to be a coach at Clark, Paris, and Bourbon. Not knowing who to prepare for year, to year with the transfers and job availabilties in Mt. Sterling.

Yes, transfers all over the district. Paris might be the only school with no transfers in their starting lineup lately.
