Okay,, so if you take Duran or any one of these players on these lists

and put them on Ludlows team that they would be a contender, I do

not think so.

Pound for pound Dan Penick is the most complete player

in the Region. Do not confuse that fact because he plays on a struggling team with

a new coach, regardless of school size or competition level.

:thumb: I agree with you 100% and so do several Div-1 coaches who have seen him play either over the summer or during the course of this season.

Not saying he should be on this list of greatness yet, but Grant Logan of Ludlow is one of the best dribblers I have ever seen. Possible better dribbler than Jefferson. He hasn't yet developed the size or strength yet but definitely will. His brothers were all over 6 foot tall. Not as smart as Jefferson with the ball but definitely makes some kids fall down with quickness. Watch this kid developed when pressure is added when Penick leaves.

what year is this kid? I know I am a vories blowhorn but I havent seen many other kids..... Vories can break your knees off the dribble....IF he is as good as you say he is...this logan kid... he should dominate Class A competition...

Logan is a sophmore, which means he don't get that much playing time. But should be starting, but is undersized. He scores more than most of the starters on the team. It would be hard to believe that someone can be quicker than this kid. When he is in, I was told that the players say get the ball to him and he breaks the press by himself. If he gets the fact that he is a driving point guard and not a shooting point guard he will do well. Also, the kid dominates the j.v. level and his friends call it the Grant Logan show. He almost a triple double against Calvary. He is looked up to but is one of the youngest players on the team. He also, as a kid, was it by a car which put him in a body cast for 8 months. He was told he wasn't going to walk. Its hard to believe that he has so much speed and quickness. He told me all he's worried about is tearing his acl again. Also, those who know Dane Lantry from HC, they are step brothers and grew up together. Imagine Lantry's quickness but a lot quicker.

LOL... Logan is a solid JV guy and a solid reserve for Ludlow... No better than that right now... If he was as good as you make it sound, it wouldn't matter if he was a soph... No way he will be close to Jefferson anytime soon...

I have to agree with you and the other post. I think fireplug got a little to carried away there. Logan is a great dribbler and fast but I dont even think he is faster than Lantry as you said. But Grant never stops running so that is what makes him so quick.. He really should be starting on the Varsity team right now because they need someone like him to give them a spark and energy. If he gets stronger and learns to be ALOT smarter with the ball then he will be a pretty good player that people will hear about.

 

So yeah I think Fireplug went a little overboard with all that stuff because it made him sound awesome right now. If that was the case Ludlow should be alot better than they are. Which by the way they should be better than they are right now anyways.

There is no way in the world Kiernan is near as good as Penick. How do you even think he is top ten? Dont get me wrong he's a good banger, offensively he hasnt played any one worth playing in the post...

Your going to tell me that Ludlow has played "anyone worth playing in the post" and NCC hasn't ? NCC plays a top notch schedule compared to Ludlow and unless I'm wrong, Kiernan's stats are very similar to Penicks. So this is my explanation for why I believe Keirnan is better. He is more than just a banger, when he's out of foul trouble I believe he is one of the best big men the 9th has to offer.

I believe that Dan is the only 9th region 05-06 senior that will get a D-1 scholly for next year. That speaks for itself.

Look I can totally agree that Penick has more skill and talent and potential than anyon in the 9th Region. But its not how much you have but what you can do with it. Penick isn't given as much credit as some think he deserves because of how he plays. Truthfully thats the only reason. Not because he goes to a small school. Small school has nothing to do with it. Thats never stopped Ronny Dawn or Micheal Romes or Micheal Schmidt from getting the credit they deserve. Whether I like or it not, the truth is Penick isn't a old fashioned big man like everyone wants him to be. Thats a good reason why he doesn't get the credit you think he shoud get.
