Most coaches do a good job of talking up their better players in the paper/radio and web. They also talk them up when coaches come to visit in fall/spring. Up to the player to put up numbers and do well in camps to get a ranking. Regular season stats are nice, but most college coaches care about your camp stats- ht, wt, 40.

 

You don't even have to play a single down in HS Football. If you go to the camps and combines and you have the talent, you will be found!

Pitiful that people have to pay for this stuff. That's the coaches job to get kids info out there. With everyone on Hudl you simply need to type in an email address. Absolute laziness if Cooper didn't take care of this for this young man.

 

You are sadly mistaken if you think "it's the coaches JOB" to get their players out there. HS head coaches are paid to do one thing, win Varsity football games. This has nothing to do with laziness especially with budgets the way that they are. Countless hours are spent on game planning, practice, equipment issues, media, field mgmt, etc. and in this case the Cooper HC is also the AD not to mention has a family so as you can imagine there is not alot of "free time" to put into making sure all his players end up somewhere. The HC can assist most in helping with creation of a h/l tape, absolutely, but in no way is it HIS JOB to take care of the process beyond that. They can help with some contacts of course but there not much time for everything else that goes with the recruiting process. Some coaches may do more some may do less but unless you have a well established and dedicated personnel to do this and have unlimited time on their hands this is how the process works.

 

Parents have to be actively involved and yes these types of recruiting services are extremely helpful and they do come at a price. So if you're not a 4-5 Star Blue Chip athlete, and their aren't many in NKY, it's up to the player and parents to promote their athlete. Recruiting is a business just like camps and combines.

Amen!! Mr.Sixer.. Parents need to get off their lazy tails, and begin to encourage,train and expose their kids themselves. If you think NCSA is expensive, try paying for four years of college. NCSA is worth the investment if your kid is putting in the work.

They also do a ggreat job putting video's together. They know what the coaches look for and won't bore them with long lenghty video's and will only use plays that will show specific things such as for a WR, seperation from defenders, difficult catchess, recpetions in a crowd etc. and on defense, closing speed, tackling technique etc. They also have many members on their staff that were college and professional coaches as well as many former college players.

 

As Mr. Sixer stated, they do not simply collect their fee's and then forget about you, they will make sure the player has everything he needs to succeed in reaching their goal to play at the next level. Talk with Lex Sowards, one of the bigger recruited OLinemen in the NKY area. He was one of the participants in the Army All Star combine in Dalls this year and after talking to his mother about the trip she commented on how NCSA was there to see him in person and assist in anyway possible. It really meant a lot to them.

 

Lex is one of those players that many wouldn't think would need to be a part of NCSA, he's already had a lot of attention from D1 schools in Big 10 etc. and has had many visits already but his parents have praised the attention NCSA has given their boy.

Here's hoping he has a breakout year for Cooper. The stats show 23 receptions in 25 games. Am I reading that wrong? IDK! I would think a 40 reception year will be in the works for him. At least I hope so to try and showcase his talents. Is that possible with Coopers offense?

Cooper would use 5 WR's he had the 2nd most receptions from WR's both his sophomore and junior year so we'll see.

 

Next year will be a new QB so it all depends on what ttype of Offense Coach runs.

Yes it was. He played QB all his life until H.S although last year he did play in 2 JV games and has a school record 99 yard TD pass against Ryle JV.

 

He's never played WR until last year.

 

He plays baseball also so going to camps is tough since most take place during baseball and Summer ball, but he is going to the NUC this weekend in LExington to get his times.

 

He has gotten some letters requesting visits, mostly iin the past 2 weeks. Also interested in baseball at the next level.
