You believe as you wish. All I am saying is that South better not bring their "C" game to the post season or they will be saying "See-Ya next Season". If Corbin...... a team that is above average can play as close as they did....( were you even at the game to know how it took place?) then certainly Bville, Clay Co and North are all capable. Heck Pineville could be included in that list as well. South is a great team, but I would not wrap the region trophy up and deliver to their front door just yet. Are they the favorite yes, will it be easy, I think not.

 

I totally agree...... but my point was that at this time in the season if SL plays their "C" game they still beat any team in the Region..... they proved that last night, not taking anything away from Corbin or what they did because they obviously didnt play their best either. Heck no if SL brings their "C" game will they win the 13th region crown...... they will get beat if they are playing that way come tourney time... I totally agree.

 

My point was also that I dont think SL will playing the way they did last night come tourney time....... and therefore it will be extremely difficult for anyone to take the 13th region crown from them because by that time they will be on their "A" game.

 

I find it funny how a 17 point loss at home by arguably a top 5 team in the region is giving everyone in this region hope that SL may not be as good as previously thought. I mean NL did that earlier in the season, so for anyone thinking SL was unbeatable you are badly mistaken. I just dont think come tourney time anyone will be able to pull the upset..... although Ive been wrong before.

Corbin does have some young talent playing this year plus two very good freshman who are hurt that would be getting varsity minutes this year. They have three freshman big men that if they take the time to develop them

and the kids work extremely hard could also be major contributors their junior and senior years.

Bold Prediction. Anyway South hasn't peaked, try playing three TOUGH games in five days with Lafayette North College Hill and Corbin.

When is a 17-point road victory not something to be happy about? With Proffitt only scoring seven and Smith scoring four...South should be licking its chops next time around.

South better quit hav'ing lack luster games before the region tourny or they want play in rupp some tough teams in 13th whats your in put. if you get a chance go watch Corbins 8th grade play and let us no what you think.

I think the 13th region tourney may be more dangerous for SL then the state tourney (if they get there). Here is my reasoning:

 

It seems that when SL is playing a team of equal or better talent they play really well... they come out focused, get hot, and usually end up pulling out a win. Look at Pendleton Co., Mason Co., Lafayette, and NCH as an example.

 

However, when SL feels that they are "better" then a team or that they "should" win the game, they do not play as well as they can. I think it is when they take this attitude that they are beatable.

 

I am not saying that SL is an "arrogant" team, or a team that "reads their press clippings." However it is a fact in sports that it is hard to stay focused when you are always playing teams that you feel you are better then, or teams that you really are better then.

 

If SL walks into the 13th region tournament with this attitude they very well could get beat. I'm pretty sure that they will not walk into the state tourney with this attitude..... and if they get beat it will not be for this reason. However, in the 13th region tourney I could very easily see this as a big reason SL gets beat. Afterall, we all pretty much agree that SL, if they play their "A" game should not lose in the 13th region...... but if they do it will be for this reason I think.

SL really set the bar high for themselves earlier in the season because they absolutely dominated any and evey team in the 13th region. I dont believe any team played them within 30 points (besides maybe NL) and most the games were over at 1/2. This really made them look unbeatable, and it looked as if no team could even hang with them.

Its fairly small town laid back If you like country music and stuff Roosters and Yesterdays is your choice.If you want a more upscale hip hop type nightmoves is it.Couple other places i let you know about if you wanna pm me.Several nice hotels in the area also.Be safe and hopefully ill see you there.

With 3 minutes to go Corbin was down 7 points....... they never got any closer and the closest they ever got the entire game was 5 points.

Still it was a 17-point win. No more, no less.
