About what I thought...... figured it would be closer then the last meeting, just for the fact that the game was at Corbin and Corbin has improved as the season has went on. However, looks like SL was just too much as they go on to win by 17. Solid showing by the Redhounds nonetheless..... playing SL as close as any 13th region team has this season.

Corbin fought hard...... but SL was just too much. I really dont think the game was probably ever in doubt, nor was the fact that the Cards would clinch the the #1 seed in the 50th district.

 

Corbin made it interesting though..... and deserve some credit for playing SL as close as any regional team has. After their embarrasing loss to SL earlier this season I think Corbin regained a measure of respect with tonights game.

I really don't believe either team has shown the other their best hand yet. But we'll see.

I could agree with that. But I will also say that I will take SL's best hand vs. Corbin's best hand, on a neutral floor any day.

Imo South didn't play very well. They didn't shoot the ball very good, and had a lot of shots rimmed out. Corbin got as close as 5 points but couldn't get it any closer. Crawford had a good game for Corbin I think he had 17.

Hammonds led SL with 21, while Allen had 18 and nine boards.

Crawford scored 17 and Barley had eight.

Corbin was down five at the half and hit a three that was ruled after the buzzer that would have cut it to two at the half. They were down by 7-8 points going into the fourth quarter and had 3 straight possessions down by seven points with around 3 minutes plus to go in the game and just could not get a shot to fall, something that haunted them all night. So while it may not have ever been in doubt, the Hounds did put a little scare into the Cards.

 

Corbin earned some respect tonight by the way they battled and with a break or two or maybe someone with a hot hand from the outside, they might have pulled off the upset.

South looked flat. I have seen them play several times this year, and I have seen them play better.

I think that goes to show just how good SL can be when they are really hitting on all cylinders.

 

Hammonds continues to impress. Allen is his normal dominant self. What did Proffitt and Smith end up with?

Read my other post..... I agree, Corbin competed with SL and it was a lot closer then the final score indicated. However, seemed like everytime Corbin got close SL would turn it up and keep them at bay. This is not an excuse either, but this wasnt the best I have seen SL..... but give Corbin credit, I'm sure they had something to do with that.
