If I cared about guns as much as you did I'd break the law to keep my guns. Just like if I was single without family responsibilities I'd be an expert in hydroponics right now. While I get what you're saying, it would be nice if others (especially the government) would respect the rights of those that do care. The whole point about proposed gun control is it does nothing to solve the problem. Absolutely nothing. This is nothing more than an agenda from those on the left, everyone should care about that. Sadly, some don't.

Sadly, some don't. I feel the same way about a lot of things such as the systematic destruction of the inner cities. Just because they aren't constitutional amendments doesn't mean they are less important yet people don't care. You get used to it after a while. Sad but true.

While the focus is on drugs and guns as the tools of hurting the inner city I recall that the many thriving inner city neighborhoods were devastated by the construction of the interstate road system. The engineers of the 1950s and 1960s planned routes through the cheapest land available. In the inner cities this was usually black neighborhoods - most of which were very vibrant. Then many of these were totally or partially destroyed, physically, to create the road system in that area. In retrospect it seems tragic. Unfortunately this was systematic. Not targeted to have the effects it has had. But still planned out.

This is where this whole argument breaks down for me. So there is an extra-constitutional concept of natural rights that, I assume, proceeds from God or at least some philosophical concept of human rights not necessarily outlined in the Constitution. Either way, interpreting what those are is a pretty substantial problem.

January 26, 201313 yr I'm not endorsing the drug habit. I know that you probably won't agree with me on drug laws, so whatever, we can debate that in another thread... In regards to the gun control, those restrictions shouldn't be in place for that individual to get into trouble. That's all I am saying. Law can't be racist unless it says that a certain ethnicity is to be enslaved or quarantined, however, law is still allowing officers to arrest and eventually it allows the imprisonment for non-violent offenses. The law is perpetuating racism. It comes down to the fact that they are getting arrested at a disproportionate rate -- the laws are unjust, and its hurting the black community. Do you think the stats are justified? You ever think its because they are breaking the law at a disproportionate rate.

As far as the gun control laws go. I'm sure they would be breaking the laws more often because gun control measures are harsher in urban areas where blacks tend to be. I don't think those laws should be there in the first place and if they weren't in place, they wouldn't be breaking the law at a disproportionate rate.

The first 8 minutes are definitely worth the watch. Warning - some graphic pictures and video clips in in this. The first does not start until after the 8 minute mark. They are quick. The first picture in between the 8 and 9 minute marks is about the worst. The speaker is somewhat entertaining and presents this serious subject well. January 28, 201313 yr The 'powerful' .223 (5.56) vs. the 'military' 7.62 (Kalashnikov). The create of the video says .223 in the video the title has 5.56 - both are about the same. But he does a good demonstration. Also in the video above the doctor says at the 7:34 mark that the military is looking to go back to the larger size projectiles because the small projectiles do not work in the body like the do in the gel.
