Start a thread about the government and how it has perpetuated racism and you'll find out real quick not only how much people don't care but they'll call you delusional as well. Folks don't care about COINTELPRO or the influx of guns and drugs into the black community in the 1980s from which the inner cities were sent into a downward spiral searching for Obamaphones. What do you expect me to do? Better yet, we have a black president and he can't do squat either. Upset me? Yeah, when I was 21. At 38 I have accepted life for what is and do what I can to take care of my family. That's all we can do nowadays. Survive and advance like the NCAA tourney in March. Right now survival is really good to me. I can't worry about stuff I can't control.

That's not compromise and it solves nothing. How about something that will actually attack the problem without attacking our rights? How about a ban of some sort on psychotropic drugs? Or allowing schools to have trained, evaluated, armed personnel? Some things along these lines or others that might actually be beneficial as a gun ban would not.

Marijuana isn't a constitutional right.

 

Or a natural right. Most of the Bill of Rights are protections against infringement (by the government) on people's natural rights.

That's not the point. I have chosen not to exercise that constitutional right for 38 years so if it disappears tomorrow it doesn't affect me. If I cared about guns as much as you did I'd break the law to keep my guns. Just like if I was single without family responsibilities I'd be an expert in hydroponics right now.

Bingo! I said (when Obama was elected the first term) that he would go after guns in his second term. Never had any doubt about it. It sickens me that he and his cohorts are unabashedly doing so standing on the graves of children.

No. My fear of AK-47s and all guns in general for that matter have nothing to do with the president. It has to do with me going to my brother-in-law's house to see his weapons cache and then me wondering what the hell does he need all of that weaponry for.

So you have no issue with other black people being sent to jail at an extremely disproportionate rate when it comes to gun laws? That doesn't upset you? I'm not endorsing the drug habit. I know that you probably won't agree with me on drug laws, so whatever, we can debate that in another thread...

 

In regards to the gun control, those restrictions shouldn't be in place for that individual to get into trouble. That's all I am saying. Law can't be racist unless it says that a certain ethnicity is to be enslaved or quarantined, however, law is still allowing officers to arrest and eventually it allows the imprisonment for non-violent offenses. The law is perpetuating racism. It comes down to the fact that they are getting arrested at a disproportionate rate -- the laws are unjust, and its hurting the black community.
