Simon Kenton vs Collins 1-21-2013 Cancelled

So, the two questions are:

When did the board come down with this decision?

When did SK schedule the game?

1. ITs been a board policy for at least the last 4 years if not longer.

2. No idea when SK scheduled the game.

Sounds to me like someone dropped the ball at SK. Irrelevant what we think concerning a school district's decisions. Their prerogative.

Who is supposed to be serving who?

So the rule's been around for four years. Sounds like SK screwed over Collins.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I would think if the voters don't like the decision then they can vote them out. Really this was probably an honest mistake by someone at SK. They'll probably figure it out. School Boards do act on things beyond sports, don't get how this is an issue other than rescheduling a game. Even if they don't both teams will still be ok. The other stuff really doesn't matter to me ether way.

If I'm Montgomery County I would have called Collins and offered to play them on Monday. Why? Their two starters will be suspended for two games. If they slip one in on Monday that means the starters would be allowed to play when they play Mason County.

This policy reeks of PC or personal agenda.

I agree.

The Kenton County administration is absolutely nuts. No out of state overnights, no practice on Sunday and no activities on MLK. Do they have the same directive for President's Day? NO!

Maybe, it's still their prerogative. That's an assumption I won't make, though. I give the districts the benefit of the doubt.

Lots of districts have the no practice on Sunday policy.

These policies effect more than this game. Onsite and OFFSITE practices are also prohibited on Sunday for one policy and Monday for another. Bottom line : you are robbed of the ability to prepare your team to play a game on Tuesday!

You're killing me man, all I can do is chuckle. Your passion is admirable, though. I have no doubt the teams will move on and one of them might even win the 8th. If they don't, this will not be the reason.

I believe Boone County as a similar rule as well. I know the Boys are not allowed to practice or enter the school.

How in anyway can this honor the memory of Dr. King? Has the Kenton Co BOE scheduled a program or service in the memory of MLK that will take place at the time the game was scheduled?

I have always thought it would be better for schools to be in session on MLK day and devote the day to study of the man and what he stood for instead of kids having a day off with no idea why.
