Maybe the JV game.

I just dont see that happening. Sorry, but Corbin does not defend well out on the floor, as evidenced by the amount of zone I have seen them play in several games(which says to me tony sees that too). Out on the floor is where south can hurt you the most. Certianly SL plays well in close to the basket but the Cardinals can kill you off the dribble and using the pull up jumper, and that is one of the problems with the Corbin defense. I think Corbin will score, probably some where in the mid to upper 60's maybe low seventies but SL may bust the century mark.

O.K. Heres my keys to Corbin keeping it close and not getting beat-down again.

(1) Slash the tires on South buses.(Well no....we live to close.)

(2) 6 FT. of snow and they call the game.(There we go)

(3) Lock the gym doors.

Just kidding....good luck I will probably be there until the 2nd half starts. ;);)

lol, Maby if God came down from heaven, the earth started to shake, and I won the lottery. Then corbin could MABY...(big maby)..win but I don't look to see any of that happining soon, neither do I see Corbin beating South in the near future.

I'd take south's bench over corbin's starters

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you could possibly consider South to be one of the most talented teams in the nation on their A game...and Corbin is a very young team, a team that shows some promise in the future, but still a very young team. I think Crawford will be the most talented player on the floor his senior year compared to the stars of SL in their SR year, but thats not the scenario, he's playing them as a freshmen. I think Crawford will have 20+ but South is jsut too powerful for Corbin right now....

South 78

Corbin 52

Maybe..... maybe not.

Each of those players are great individual players, who just so happen to understand what it means to be a team and therefore are able to succeed above and beyond each of their individual limitations. That is what basketball, and every team sport is about..... BUT that in no way should discredit each of their individual abilities as a player. To say that because they are a great team they dont have the best individual talent is crazy, because it takes individuals to make a team.... however alot of people seem to want to say this.

I'm willing to bet that if you took Crawford off of Corbin's team, and put Allen (state tourney MVP) or Proffitt (the best PG in the 13th region) on Corbin's team, Corbin would indeed be a much tougher team. If not because they are more talented then Crawford, then because they are experienced leaders who know what it takes to win.

How did Crawford perform individually the last time these 2 teams met, compared to how Proffitt, Allen, Smith, and Hammonds performed?

On a side note...... I get tired of hearing all this about teamwork being the only strong point that SL has..... it's as if people want to say that if it wasnt for SL's "unbelievable" teamwork and fundamentals, and their great coaching, then SL would just be a bunch of "non athletic" individuals who couldnt win a ball game! This is exactly the same type of reputation that the New England Patriots took on during their incredible run. I think when you have a great team the individual glory fades away...... and that makes alot of people think that their is no individual talent, when in reality there is more. However, I think the SL team uses this type of mentality to their advantage, and sorta feeds off this reputation, as unfounded as it is. :ylsuper:

No team in years around here has gotten as much respect as South Laurel. Some people just like to invent this "no credit, no respect" bull.

Not that it's any of my business, but what's the deal with being a South Laurel cheerleader when your name has Bell in it?

Bell is my #1 team as an alum from there. However SL is my #2 team for other various reasons! PM me.

There is only one team, and one Ref., that can beat South this year in the 13th. That would be South and they have the Ref. scratched from calling their games.

What ref would that be????

South will win big.

I have been told that South has not scratched any officials from their few 13th region games that they have played so far this year. I would hope that one team or the other would scratch one if he was scheduled for tonight's game though. I would expect to see a strong, experienced crew work tonight's game, such as Kelly, Kirk, Canady, etc. because the gym will be rocking from what I am hearing.

You would love to see that "strong experience crew" featuring Kirk wouldnt ya. :D

If Kirk has the game tonight then SL better get ready. The game is at Corbin and Kirk is officiating.... that could be bad for SL. I believe Clay is the only team Kirk loves better then Corbin. Kirk is always ready to put on a show in Redhound town, not to mention the fact that he is just a bad ref in general.

I dont think it would matter how bad Kirk is though, SL will still win this one running away. Unless SL's starting 5, and next 5 off the bench, all foul out in the first 1/2, I dont think Corbin has much a chance.

Kirk would be South Laurel's first choice, they rate him highly. I really don't care who officiates, as long as they have control of the game.

I can agree with that statement!
