Any updates from the NCC/Holy Cross matchup last night?

1st post, finally decided to weigh in... HC offense consisted of one pass to Beal, and she took her girl one on one for a midrange jump shot the entire game. Never really got the ball inside. NCC offense was exact opposite. They probably only took 5-10 shots outside of paint. The rest were right at the basket. HC seemed to foul to prevent easy baskets. Definately lopsided at foul line but don't feel if you were at the game you would have even realized that stat. HC started fouling with about 4 min left in game

That makes sense and creates a better picture. But 2 free throws??? That's just hard to understand? Especially in a mtm press and aggressive half court they play.

Welcome to BGP!

Thanks for weighing in and welcome to BGP! I understand your point. I had thought to myself the only way fouls could get that lopsided is of one team was very aggressive attacking the rim. This sounds like what happened and it is a very acceptable explanation. Its just such an extreme difference in free throws that even this explanation doesnt seem like enough.

If the shoe was on the other foot the NC parents would be going nuts.

There is no doubt. Anyone in that place would go nuts.

Without a doubt... If you were not at the game, then its very understandable to think something was fishy. Can't take the win from the NC girls and put it all on refs. JMO

I don't think any of us are trying to say that at all...at least not me. Just such a weird outcome! I'm sure they earned the win. Especially if they were hacked that much!

However, about the point of the NCC folks would be going nuts...I agree they would! So what does that tell us. Holy Cross fans are either not BGP members, take perceived ref bias WAY better than the rest of us or they didn't feel it was that big of a deal as they watched the game.

Fans get mad when the foul count is 6 - 3.

Coaches get on an official when they're down and they have more fouls.

49 to 2 in FTs? I'm struggling to see how that happens.

Me too! I just can't believe we're not hearing more about it? I could understand why the NCC fans aren't chiming in, but we must not have very many HC girl bball fans on the site.

My memory tells me that last year's game had a HUGE amount of FTs by both sides. Must just be the style these two play against each other.

I hear "call it both ways" when it's 4-10; and the complainer's team has the 4. Happened last game I attended.
