Any updates from the NCC/Holy Cross matchup last night?

You are correct - you shoot 49 FT's in one game - you should win by at least 30. Gotta be a concern in the NC war room.

Not sure I totally agree.

Getting fouled means you're not getting the chance to score FGs. The FTs are replacing those FGs.

NCC made 10 field goals in the game.

Wow! It could be something that teams look to do to them. I don't know what they shot against HHS at the line, but at one point the fans were discussing that if NCC could make free throws, they would be blowing HHS out!

What i meant to state was that you get 49 ft's that typically opposing team has their players in foul trouble and have to go deeper in bench which should create more / better / mismatches scoring opportunities for NC

Hack-a-Bred could come into play! Sorry, I know it's bad.

But sounds like HC wouldn't allow those mismatches to develop if the " hack a bred" was in play

If it was a hack a Shaq I could see it but it sounds like that was the theory late, for 20FTs, not the entire game. I'm more shocked that HC got only 2 fts than NCC got 49. Someone just asked "Did the Refs wear yellow and blue stripped shirts or the traditional black and white?"

It's true. Almost 40 before the end of the third quarter and HC was playing a match up zone and NC pressed much of the game. Terribly lopsided officiating.

Do I have this straight? Holy Cross plays motly zone but still fouls enough to send NCC to the line for 49 free throws. NCC playes mostly man to man with a lot of press and HC only goes to the line for two free throws....2 free throws? I know it wasn't a Friday night, but was there a fish fry going on, because something smells fishy! That is very messed up. Where there is that kind of smoke, there is fire. Can these referees be investigated or the film examined on this or does it just get swept under the rug?

It's very hard for me to accuse any refs of bias because I know several of them and I know the training they get and the professionalism they try to maintain (except in a certain part of the state). The ones I know take a lot of pride in their JOB.

However without being there, I have to agree with 7's. It just sounds fishy! Expecially the way he lays it out!

Would the HC coach get into trouble if he had just blasted the refs in the interview after the game.

Tough call. If by anyone, maybe his administrtion. He could probably get away with implying, but it would depend on how far he went! Just guessing!

Free throw shooting has been a real problem in the limited time I have seen NCC play... maybe the coaches had picked up on that in the stat sheet.

1st post, finally decided to weigh in... HC offense consisted of one pass to Beal, and she took her girl one on one for a midrange jump shot the entire game. Never really got the ball inside. NCC offense was exact opposite. They probably only took 5-10 shots outside of paint. The rest were right at the basket. HC seemed to foul to prevent easy baskets. Definately lopsided at foul line but don't feel if you were at the game you would have even realized that stat. HC started fouling with about 4 min left in game
