Justin Hicks is the best and the only 14th region junior ranked in the states top 100 players

Great list but you should watch out for Heath Brasher and Brandon Willis of Perry Central

Why?? Neither have impressed me. Except Bailey and Stacy.

I agree Congelton is probaly the best all around threat that Owsley has. Though he doesnt get alot of attention because of Smith and Neeley. He is Mr. Consistent and should definitley be considered as one of the top juniors in the region.

 

The owls may not be having the grandest season this year.

Next year but with Trey Congleton and Daniel Neely they will be tough.

The younger players will be good next year too.

Stacy Willis and Brasher all come off the bench usually together and get about the same amount of time the only difference is that Justin is a very clutch player.

I agree that Congelton from Owsley is one of the top juniors in the region. He's pretty athletic, plays hard, shoots the ball well, and is a real team player. A lot of how the Owls play rests on Congelton's performance, I'd like see him get more touches...

The hardest thing to judge are decent/good players on bad teams & decent/good on good teams. Congleton is a good player for Owsley but I dont know how effective he would be on a better team. Willis for PCC comes off the bench & isnt that impressive (imo) but if he played on some other teams, he'd get 30 mins a night.

Hicks and Bailey are the best juniors in the region. The 54th seems to be loaded with juniors as the Big kid for Leslie is a top 3 or 4 junior also.

When Owsley played PCC earlier in the season, they were in the game all game long (pre Robert Smith). As big as a toss up the 14th region is, there really isnt a tremendous amount of difference in one team to the next. Im just saying, the region isnt like it always has been, 3 or 4 dominant teams, and a bunch of scrubs, and all the players are very close skill wise. The better teams (record wise), are the ones that are better coached.

I disagree, teams like PCC, LCC, Lee, Hazard?, Estill etc are really/pretty deep. There are many players that do not get 30 mins a night & dont get the exposure & opportunity of scoring by simply being on the floor more. I know Lee plays about 9 guys every night & from what i've heard their bench is pretty solid. Some guys may get 20 mins one night & 10 the next depending on how they're playing & how others are playing.

 

For teams like Owsley (3 main guys that wont come out; smith, neeley & congleton & a huge drop off after that), Wolfe has Cody & Stamper & a drop off, etc. They dont have the luxury of spelling people or benching them because of play. this is just my opinion but I've seen Lee & Owsley; I do not think Congleton is as good as either of the Liesegangs, Fetters or Johnson (i think they're all juniors) but his name does get in the paper b/c he plays a lot. JMO

Great point, but just because players like Congelton are in for most of the game doesnt necessarily mean that they should put up much larger numbers than a decent/good player from a team that plays a lot of players. There is always the stamina factor, playing an entire 32 minutes can be grueling especially when youre playing a team that has fresh players all of the time. Its not always the numbers that determine how good a player really is either, you have to look at what he means to his team. Without Congelton where would Owsley be? Im not saying he's the BEST junior in the region, but his name is mentioned a lot.

Lee Co has a group of juniors who are all way above average. Fetters, Brandenburg, J. and D. Leisegang (twins) and L. Johnson. I think that a couple of years ago Trey Congleton was at Lee Co.

Would he be mentioned as much if he were at lee since many of those players i havent heard of as much as congleton (fetters, johnson). heard about brandenburg & "the twins" but really not good with their last name.
