Too much at stake! The preseason regional numbers 1 and 2 and the 35th district rivals fighting for the top district seed. CovCath is in need of a win over a solid club while Holmes is hungry to avenge two losses from last season. I haven't decided who I think will win yet so I will let the rest of you decide for me.

I haven't seen HC, but have heard they are an up & down team. I like Eric Goetz so I will give them the benefit of doubt.

 

I have seen Dixie play two times and they are a very average team with 2 good players in Lawson & Keener.

I've seen them play twice and thought they were as good talent wise as any team outside of Holmes. From people I know, who have seen them play in past 2 weeks, they've told Dixie shooting ability has finally shown up, that is a scary thing for 9th region oppenents.

I look for some revenge from the Dog's to heap on the Colonels, but I hope CovCath wins, as anyone having to play HC at HC in the 35th District is in for a rough night.

 

I really hope that when the new Bank of Kentuky Arena opens, they can take out the home floor advantage in all the district and regional games that gives the home team such an advantage, and to let so.....many more fans enjoy the games in comfort....... I sure hope someone comes up with a great nickname for the place but until they do thanks Bank of Kentucky for the money to make this arena finaly happen.

 

I also think that Dixie will have a huge advantage come the regions as they won't have to break a sweat to win the 34th while Beechwood, CovCath, Holmes and Holy Cross will be killing one another. Highlands will have to bring their "A" to beat Newport and or NewCath, while in Boone County where it is always a hard fought District Tournament whoever comes out will be beat up also. Only Dixe will be as fresh as a new babies bottom come the Ninth Region Tournament and should be for years and years to come if history keeps repeating itself with the teams in the 34th.

I don't think districts will be played there. But you can almost guarntee the 9th region tourney will have a new home there. There is rumblings the northern 10th region teams are going to push for it be atleast a rotating venuce for their tourney also.

BTW kudos again to the Holmes "Super Mom" Mrs. Jefferson, who told her son to sit because while his grades were good enought for Holmes, they didn't meet her standards. Man, that young man will only realize later in his life how much his Mother really loved and cared for him, by doing what she did.

 

I and every parent that I know salute you Mrs. Jefferson.......I only wish that every parent would care and love their child as much as you love yours...... In fact if I go to the game when they announe his name as a starter, I will stand up and cheer for him in honor of his Mom....

CCH has not shown that they are ready to take Holmes if Holmes is at full strength.

Bottom line a big man for CCH has to play more physical than they have shown all year and Timmy T has to come ready to play like the HC game. Jacobs will get his just by the style of D Holmes plays.
