My guess was the majority of the Crazies who attended the NDA semi-formal dance tonight, knew this game was never really going to be close and although CovCath didn't play their best tonight, the game wasn't in doubt at any point, other than when Beechwood took a 2-0 lead.

 

CovCath JV won by a score of 41-35 with former Beechwood Head Basketball Coach nephew Matthew Schumate netting 15 and Grant Romes with 08.

Pauly with 11...after seeing him in the LMIT, I am a huge fan of the way this kid plays the game.

 

Looking forward to seeing him and the Colonels again Tuesday night.

Beechwood played good defense but they are just not a good offensive team and they are terrible ball handlers. Maybe CovCath had a bad night but I have a hard time seeing that team winning the region. Very solid team, fundamentally very good and they are basketball players but not much that should scare anyone besides Ruthsatz. Then again, I would say the same thing about last year's Boone County team and they won it so who knows. Shover did a very good job defensively on Ruthsatz and he still got 19.

 

Is the ref with dark hair Scully? I know he is supposed to be one of the best up here but I don't like the way he calls a game. Very inconsistent. Calls it close on one play and then lets things go on the next possession. Every time I see him ref I find myself shaking my head on half the calls he makes, not because they are clearly bad calls but because they are so random and inconsistent.

Child #7 on the way! Now that is a good old Catholic family.

 

Looking at the box score, it looks like a methodical beat down by the Colonels. No 3 pointers for Cov Cath in the game, including Ruthsatz? And only 4 points for Tobler.

TOG, as I'm sure you're keenly aware there is NO ONE more concerned about the boys getting the game over with quickly so that they could attend a dance especially one as glorious as the famed Silver Bells dance.

 

If I was the head man I would have "invited" those boys back to Park Hills this morning at 8 a.m. for a "get their attention" practice and I would have made sure we had plenty of garbage cans available.

 

Giving up 14 offensive rebounds to a less-talented and no bigger team is simply unacceptable and screams laziness and "someone else will get it." Holmes and NCC are coming up next week. That same performance gets the Colonels knocked out twice in one week.
