What happened on pics 130 to 133? Looks like Bo tried to dunk and the ball popped out.

TOG, as I'm sure you're keenly aware there is NO ONE more concerned about the boys getting the game over with quickly so that they could attend a dance especially one as glorious as the famed Silver Bells dance.

If I was the head man I would have "invited" those boys back to Park Hills this morning at 8 a.m. for a "get their attention" practice and I would have made sure we had plenty of garbage cans available.

Giving up 14 offensive rebounds to a less-talented and no bigger team is simply unacceptable and screams laziness and "someone else will get it." Holmes and NCC are coming up next week. That same performance gets the Colonels knocked out twice in one week.

And indeed there was practice at 8am this morning as there has been every Saturday morning and get this Clyde, there will even be practice on Sunday as well!

Clyde as much as you think there should be nothing else on their minds but the game, you need to remember that these kids/young men also enjoy dating young ladies and it was a big night out for them and yes to a kid, they all had a great time last night.

On the rebounding, Beechwood does have two 6'4", maybe 6'5", guys so they aren't small. Also, when you miss a lot of shots there are more opportunities for offensive rebounds.

Thanks. So does NCC. Holmes' history says they will crash the offensive boards as well. All it takes is to stick your rear end into their thighs. Not hard. Just takes "want to."

That's why I'd have a "get their attention" practice.

Get their attention practice?

So I guess then, you think Holmes who almost squandered a 25 point lead "at Holmes" vs HC and NCC who got blown out against "T" last night at NCC, should have, cleared the gym and then had a three hour practice after the game?

And then what about Dixie who only beat St. Henry by 9 and Hatton not netting a trey all night? What they should have a get their attention practice at 6am?

Colonels looked like they were looking forward to next weeks games.

There was no emotion or intensity by the boys in blue for this one.

Thus, my desire to get their attention this morning.

Only if you are thinking that BW is as good as T or HC. I don't.

You tell me. How did BW get 14 offensive rebounds? Do they jump higher? Are they superior athletes? Did CCH fall down? What did you see?

If and that is a huge if you had attended the game and we all know why you didn't attend this game and that was because you knew it wasn't going to be close, you would have seen that more than a shot or two by Beechwood missed and missed badly and as thus came out farther beyond the usual rebounding area and by no stretch is Beechwood small in height or size!

As Kybighorn mentioned as did I, CovCath didn't play their best game tonight but then again they still won.

So how many points should CovCath have beaten Beechwood by to make you happy?

You're not paying attention. Point differential tells me nothing.

14 offensive rebounds tells me a lot. Could a few of those be weird bounces? Sure. 14? No way.

I agree with KYBig. Lack of concentration. You can tell me all the reasons WHY that might have been the case. I don't care as it's irrelevant. You get them back in the gym this morning and let them know they failed to execute on defensive rebounding and you instill that effort into them.

They're coming off of a stretch against less-than-stellar competition. Complacency and overconfidence can set in. This is the wrong week for that.

Like I said in the NCC thread when offering criticism, it's not personal. It's strictly basketball. CCH got outworked last night.

And yet, still won going away against a team that went into the game playing like it was a NCAA final four game!

You except far more from kids, than what you should... They are not professional nor are most/any going to play at the next level. They are kids who were playing a team that you knew, as most in NKy knew, they would beat going away. They had a big dance the same night to attend and few of their fellow classmates nor guys like you, saw the need to attend. It happens but again, they still won and it wasn't close!

I expect kids to work hard. About the only stat one can look at and determine if effort was shown is offensive rebounding. Defense has an inherent advantage because they are already closer to the rim than the person they are guarding. If a team gives up 14 offensive boards despite that inherent advantage they didn't work hard enough. Simple as that. No excuses are acceptable.

Shots aren't always going to fall. The opposition sometimes makes it hard to score. Rebounding is simply about you outworking your opponent. No skill required. No ballhandling expertise required. No ability shoot a 3 required. Just work and desire.

All you've given is excuses as to why they got outworked. If any of them are valid then, again, Coach R has to get their attention.

CCH beat a bad team by 20 points. They got the W. They got a W in a district game. That's the positive and if that's enough for you then cool. I look at a bigger picture and project how shortcomings MIGHT impact them against quality competition ie Holmes NCC.

So you pat them on the back and I'll tell them what they did wrong. That way they feel good AND they learn something. Win win.

How many offensive rebounds do teams usually get in a game?

How many did Cov Cath get in this one?

Get their attention practice?

Newcath didn't get blown out by T. 3 point game with 6 min left get your facts straight before you post stuff. There is no team in the 9 region that would come close to T. Newcath is the only team that would keep it close cause of their size. IMO
