Newcath didn't get blown out by T. 3 point game with 6 min left get your facts straight before you post stuff. There is no team in the 9 region that would come close to T. Newcath is the only team that would keep it close cause of their size. IMO

I expect kids to work hard. About the only stat one can look at and determine if effort was shown is offensive rebounding. Defense has an inherent advantage because they are already closer to the rim than the person they are guarding. If a team gives up 14 offensive boards despite that inherent advantage they didn't work hard enough. Simple as that. No excuses are acceptable.

 

Shots aren't always going to fall. The opposition sometimes makes it hard to score. Rebounding is simply about you outworking your opponent. No skill required. No ballhandling expertise required. No ability shoot a 3 required. Just work and desire.

 

All you've given is excuses as to why they got outworked. If any of them are valid then, again, Coach R has to get their attention.

 

CCH beat a bad team by 20 points. They got the W. They got a W in a district game. That's the positive and if that's enough for you then cool. I look at a bigger picture and project how shortcomings MIGHT impact them against quality competition ie Holmes NCC.

 

So you pat them on the back and I'll tell them what they did wrong. That way they feel good AND they learn something. Win win.

 

Again they had practice on Saturday which I said they do every Saturday and they will have practice on Sunday, which they usually do.
