Thanks Jack. Plenty of talent even with a lot left on the shelf.

Football players don't have 30 days to get their legs. They have/had 4.

Play at St Henry on Friday and versus Walton Saturday at home.

Hope they can jump right in and hit the go button. Good Luck !!!

Not too big of a deal with Hoge not playing. Hebel being hurt though makes it a little bit tougher on the boards.

Will the football players be expecting to get a lot of minutes this weekend? From the looks of the roster, I think they will need to play.

Of the top 8 players, 5 of them are football players. And you could have as many as 6 football players seeing action tonight. As of yesterday, there still isn't a set lineup and there will be either 2 or 3 football players to start. Needless to say, this team will look a lot different in January and February than it does now.

Seems pretty logical that football players would start and play when 13 of the 20 are just coming from football. It is my understanding that a few of the footballers have not been cleared to participate in basketball as yet due to various injuries they have suffered from during the season. I would expect the starting lineup to include Buten, Harris, Hergott, Greene and possibly Houliston. Bench players would be Brockett, Weyer, and possibly Kendall.

I think I heard a certain player will be resting until after the Christmas break.

Question I have, do you start football players who have only practiced 2-3 times or do you reward the guys that have been there since late September/early October? Even if it is just to start the game and play a few minutes. These games in December obviously are just to get the wrinkles out and get guys into basketball shape.

You would not have enough to start, so some football players have to. The football guys were there all summer and fall. They are in much better shape than you would think. I as well heard one may be out to Christmas, one will return tomorrow night after being released by doctor yesterday from concussion and unsure on the other at this time. All other hands are on deck as far as I am aware.

Riddles? You guys post in riddles.

It is not a break in secrecy to say Houliston is being held out til after Xmas. It is not top secret that soph. Dougherty is not cleared to play until Saturday. I don't think I am going to lose my HHS fan card by revealing that Hebel is on the shelf for a while.

The Birds will compete with the kids that are healthy enough to play. The schedule is purposefully set to begin in mid-December so the footballers have at least a couple of practices under their belts. Coach will start/play those that are varsity players and have been practicing for a while, but as JOAT has said, there are only 4 varsity kids that are not football players. Last time I checked you play with 5 on the court.

Good luck to the Birds this season. Stay healthy, have fun and represent yourselves and your school with pride.
