Conner 75 Dixie Heights 61

Featured Replies

Very good win for Conner heading into Xmas break. Barker has the unique ability to make everyone better. With his size he can score inside and help on the boards. Yet, he is versatile enough that he can also guard the 1-5 spots and also help bring the ball up the floor, if needed. Dixie had no answer for Drew last night. Good to see Lamblez playing well again. Hemmerich, Barker, and Padgett are the nucleus of this team but I think he is the "X" factor to Conner's success this year. Way played his best game and fed the post very well from the PG spot.

How come when someone posts something about why he believes Dixie had trouble last night (sitting their starters for most of the game) /QUOTE]

"Sitting their starters most of the game."

Box score shows that non-starters took a grand total of 6 shots.

You're trying to tell me that the non-starters sat most of the game and the subs only took 6 shots? Come on. Sell it elsewhere.

Dixie was 7/16 from the line.

Hatton was 6/19 from the field.

Daria was 6/10. I thought he played well.

Congratulations Conner Cougars on a very nice win.

Show me sour grapes in this thread? Not surprised where this is coming from. C'mon man.

I didn't say Conner fans had sour grapes, once again some on here need to learn some reading comprehension. What I said was that some were saying the person who listed why he thought Dixie struggled said he had sour grapes.

I was refering to posts like the following when responding to the post about starters not playing much in the game.

As much as your earlier post did scream Sour Grapes I can actually live with this description. I do think Conner players and coaches should do cartwheels though after this win considering some of their earlier losses.

Ennam's comments ticked me off. Sounds to me like Dixie needs to worry about itself, not about how excited Conner should or shouldn't be over this win.

These comments and the actions the coach had to take could lead one to assume that the attitude exhibited by Mr. Pike may still be prevalent at Dixie.

Dixie's two bigs, Alex Milligan and Cameron Ruehr were both sat halfway through the 2nd and never returned to the game. That's why Barker had his way inside. Dixie had 4 bigs play the rest of the way who typically never get into the varsity game.

If Conner feels good about that, then so be it. I was not impressed with Conner. Sorry.

Dixie had 17 rebounds. Conner's stats have yet to be reported. I'd be willing to bet they doubled Dixie up... and that my friend tells the more accurate story of the game.

You obviously have no clue as to who usually plays for Dixie.

You're claiming that Dixie's best players didn't play much.

I'm telling you that the best players took the vast majority of the shots.

You telling me I'm wrong?

Here's who I consider Dixie's best to be:

Hatton

Schreck

Daria

Milligan

Niehaus

Rabe

Ruehr

Do we agree?

If so that group took 48/52 shots.

Don't try to tell us that Dixie played their JV boys much of the game.

By the way, Ennam. I saw your 20+ point Dixie wins going away prediction.

I fully get why you're upset.

I think that his prediction was based on Conner's record, which was not a good indicator since they have not been full strength for most of their games.

I would still have no problem predicting Dixie winning going away.

Shooting shots is not the only part of playing basketball. Dixie was unable to guard inside, nor rebound.

Now Hellbird trolls in Conner basketball threads....

Correct.....players who don't play much typically don't fire up many shots. You have to have defenders, rebounders, and guys who can make plays in the game. Dixie's still searching for a core group right now. When they go from playing 12-14 guys a game down to 8-9 and have some guys step up to take the load off Hatton, they'll be more effective imo....It's December.
