Hamilton to the Angels???

Featured Replies

Trout, Hamilton, and Pujols combined for 103 home runs last year.

I read the SF Giants had 103 as a team.

I read that Hamilton told Daniels he felt it was best he leave Texas.

He didn't call him until after he had already signed the contract with the Angels and that's when he told him that. Why lie the entire way through the process?

His first official game as an Angel will be at GABP on Opening Day.

Cueto, Weaver, Votto, Pujols, Bruce, Trout, Phillips Hamilton . Talk about star studded opening day.

Greinke is a Dodger isn't he?

Greinke? I thought he signed with the Dodgers?

Yeah, I got a little excited and forgot about that. Insert Weaver for him.

In 5 seasons with Rangers, Hamilton ranked 15th in majors for HRs (142), 8th in RBIs (506), 5th in slugging (.549) and 80th in games.

^That 80th in games played is why he's not worth near that kind of contract IMO.

I agree.

Because he's not a good person... Go figure

That's absurd to think they won the WS with so few dongs.

Throughout the whole FA process Hamilton has maintained he would take any offers he was considering back to Texas and give them an opportunity to match the deal. Rangers GM Daniels didn't get a call and is none to pleased about it.

Daniels should be ecstatic. Matching or beating that contract would be foolish.

Does Disney still own the Angels? Where are they getting all this money from.

I believe the Angels got a huge TV deal last year, similar to what the Yankees have, and that is where they came up with the big budget.

I hear what you are saying, but I don't have a problem with that. Hamilton just realized that there was nothing the Rangers could do to change his mind. I was in a similar situation once on a job offer. I really liked the company I was working for and it was a small family business that had been very supportive. I thought about giving them a chance to match the offer but as I thought about I knew there was nothing they could do to change my mind. I think they were upset but sometimes you just have to make a business decision.
