I believe the Angels got a huge TV deal last year, similar to what the Yankees have, and that is where they came up with the big budget.

I hear what you are saying, but I don't have a problem with that. Hamilton just realized that there was nothing the Rangers could do to change his mind. I was in a similar situation once on a job offer. I really liked the company I was working for and it was a small family business that had been very supportive. I thought about giving them a chance to match the offer but as I thought about I knew there was nothing they could do to change my mind. I think they were upset but sometimes you just have to make a business decision.

Why is it Hamilton's fault? Isn't it the GM's responsibility to go after the player? Seems they never made the aggressive offer to him to show they were serious.

Like Hamilton is supposed to be a slave to the "tell me what they offered you and I'll sleep on whether or not I want to match" mentality. If they wanted him that bad they should have made a serious offer.

After the way last season ended in Texas for Hamilton and the fans it's probably better he get out anyway.

The Angels might be hard-pressed to match Hunter's 2012 production in right field for the next five years ... and will pay huge money to take the risk.
